In the US, I suspect Asians receive less negative racism than Blacks. The racism is still there, it's just "benevolent racism". We assume Asians are industrious and gifted for sciences. Don't know why or how that began. In any case, there IS racism. I suspect that whites just don't feel that there will be any negative consequences to being "live and let live" with Chinese or Japanese or Korean people. As for SE Asians, I don't think it's quite as respectful.
In '63 I attended a high school in East LA for a year that was about 95% Hispanic. Never did I experience racism there.Talk about white privilege! I guess white privilege is a form of benevolent racism too, so I didn't know I was being treated special. But, I did know that if I made a move on that cutie on the bus, her barrio gangster big brothers would not be so kind!
