You're an entertainer. You choose to offend your audience, get ready to pay up. This goes both ways of political spectrum. Why do these people think they can do whatever they want and be expected to be supported? The best thing to do is STFU.
She should not only lose all sponsorships but should also be deprived of her US citizenship. Dissing our country on an international stage is treasonous. To have taken advantage of US taxpayers' dollars for years of training and world class facilities is a big slap to the greatest country in world history.
The same should apply to all US athletes who disrespect our nation, our flag, our Pledge, our Constitution or our people. Just because one of us doesn't agree with one or two outcomes in daily life does not give us a right to dis the entire country and all of us who live here.
All anti-American people should do one thing they do have a right to do.....LEAVE!
Why would a business support an athlete who disrespects her country, the veterans and half of it's citizens? She did this to herself out of stupidity and ego.
perhaps. but track and field is not exactly a stable choice of professions. almost anything else pays better and she is not the best in the country in a discipline that no one gives a s--- about. the people who make the most in the fringe events are usually either the clear best or the photogenic types a la Quigley. The NYT did an expose on it and concluded there is almost no money in the sport.
Everyone who is criticizing Gwen has been silent on the biggest hypocrite when it comes to the flag and star spangled banner.
I lost 4 million dollars last week in sponsorship money because I stood up for people who are being victimized.
There. See how easy that was? Of course, I might have made it all up, but how are any of you going to check it?
A hammer thrower (a 3rd-place hammer thrower) does NOT have endorsements.
What corporation is going to say, "We've got to go out and find ourselves a 3rd-place hammer thrower to sponsor"?
2 issues, 1. trump is no longer pres. so move on TDS is no longer a liberal virtue signal, 2. she probs set up a go f* me page for anyone who supports her cause.
She's trying to control the narrative which is ironic because she could very well be doing this all to make a lot of money. She could either attract the (fake) woke liberal sponsors or set up a lawsuit opportunity for money, claiming she was oppressed because she protested human rights.
I'm sure she doesn't want to work a real job in her life (typical) by the looks of things and hopes to cash in on a once in a lifetime opportunity here.
I am no diehard far right extremist, but one thing that really pushes my buttons is how people like Gwen Berry try to compare what they’re doing now to what MLK did in the 60’s. They’re completely different and people need to stop pretending they’re the same. Saying that today’s society is soooooo racist when in reality it is not and ignoring the actual facts that show our society is not super racist is just unhelpful, and then slandering MLK by comparing oneself to him is just to much IMO. What ever happened to the dream of our children being accepted for their accomplishments not their skin color?
Good…. Hope she loses much more, too.
Olympic hopefuls have a platform. This genius uses that platform to give a black power fist.
Racist idiot.

I find it sad that a brand would back away from someone making a statement about racism. Shows how racist the society is. She is being punished for showing bravery.
If there were no consequences then it wouldn't require any bravery.
I don't believe her anyway.

Her track record on truth and reality is not good.

Not true in the least. Gwen is, as they say, very small potatoes. No one, no one as done more damage to our democracy than the man you are referring to.
Gwen showed disrespect potentially on a national stage for this country. She gives hope to all the despots like Vladimir and Kim Jong Un who want people to ignore our country's attempts for human rights. They see Gwen and they laugh and tell their people America is no different.
Democrats love this country too and don't like to see it disrespected. Its my right to express displeasure at Gwen.

Gwen Berry said:
After my stance, I lost about $50,000. It affected my family and how I'm able to take care of them. I lost sponsorships. My career has been assassinated too. Or at least they're trying to assassinate it."
Can someone please explain this quote from Gwen Berry? We're always talking on here about how runners have only one sponsor and can't branch out beyond their shoe companies. Yet Gwen Berry says her protest at the Pan Ams last year cost her multiple sponsorships worth $50k.
How can that be? What type of companies - plural - sponsor a US thrower? And did they really cancel her? And why are throwers getting multiple sponsors but not distance runners?
Write it off as the cost of Free Speech.
Would she have done it anyway,(if she saw the consequences coming?) Dont know, but if she did and went ahead? Shows character. If she acted on impulse? Not sure, but looking ahead is better.
Her right, her consequences...all of which aren't so bad.
Dont "Patriots" believe in Constitutional rights?
Berry decided to play with fire.
She is going to get as much positive/negative attention as she asked for.
The next move is up to NBC for allowing her as much air time as they want.
Truth is, she will not get out of the preliminaries with her ability.
She can paint her face up all she wants and glue on her eyelashes,
But, she just isn’t good enough to command attention through her athletic ability anymore.

when you are getting paid by a company you need to remember you represent a brand. not saying it is right but it is a business.
Of course its right.
If represent a brand you are on the hook.
If you don't want to do it, don't take the money
Good. She made a choice, and so did they.
