I am curious what you all think the hardest track and field world record to break is. Personally, I do not see the 800 or 10k falling for a long time.

Mens high jump.
I'll add the outdoor 1500m as well

But the title should be “least easily beatable”. Everything could go down, given the right conditions. Ackbar’s 19.32 was considered insane, otherworldly, and has been absolutely demolished.
Also Joey Chestnut 74 HDB in 10 minutes.

Agreed.
Men high jump. Least easily beaten.
Daniel Komen, 3000m - 7:20

I disagree if only because they are replacing the 5000/10000 with the 3000 for DL, right? I think the 3000 will go before the 5000/10000 now that it will be run much more often.
I think the 5000 is the better mark. If they ran the 3000 as often as the 5000, there would be plenty of Berkeley/Geb/El G times relatively close to that record.
Daniel Komen ran a 3:29 1500m, a 3:46 mile, and a 12:39 5000m.
He was a better 1500m runner than Alan Webb, and as strong a 5000m runner as Haile Gebrselassie.
There is absolutely no runner, including Bekele, who had the unique range to beat that 3000m record.
It's funny all these 'unbeatable' records were set within 5 years or so of each other in the full throttle era.
Dopers like ex-runner will say it's a coincidence, but what you really mean when you say unbeatable is - 'can't be broken without full throttle epo'.
Two options.
1. Women's 400. Eid Naser will get popped before the Olympics next year and nobody else has gotten close.
2. Men's 50 mile road record. Kinda obvious. But there will never be an athlete in the history of sport as good as Big Jim.
74.08 by a drugged beyond belief kraut that never on any other occasion even threw 70...
the best thrower of all time got within 20 cm at his peak, only one other clean man ever even surpassed 73 m... or 72

For me the obvious one is Bolt's 100m, I can see that lasting a very long time.
The Men’s Long Jump WR has been broken once in the past 52 years.
