I am looking for a discussion on the civil unrest of the 60s vs 2020.
We all know the music from that era is better. Good thing you can still listen to it today and have much easier access to any song on demand.
The heroes of the young, black and white, were assassinated in the 60s. JFK, Malcolm X, MLK, Bobby Kennedy all within 5 years. Coupled with an unpopular war, and a lack of trust in the establishment, the youth had enough.
The latest unrest is a result of the ongoing systemic racism and death after death of average black men. Coupled with a polarizing president and being quarantined for 8 weeks people have had enough. White people tend to be more aware of "privilege" and more supportive and sensitive. Even cops are taking a knee with protesters. Nevertheless a large percentage of Americans will disagree with me and want to M.A.G.A.
LBJ not seeking reelection was a result in 68 who knows what will happen these next few months.
Given the protests all over the world and the ability to see things as they unfold make this protest very different.
