This is sickening. Can you imagine being worth more than $4 billion and not willing to shell out an extra $100 a week to players in the midst of a pandemic?
The Washington Nationals have said they are reducing the stipend they give to minor leaguers from $400 to $300 a week. This is sad. How many minor leaguers are there in an organization? Maybe a max of what 150? So they are saving $15,000 a week and $60,000 a month? And the dude is worth more than 4 billion?
And I don't want to hear that he didn't technically do it and that he's 95 and retired so his son is in charge. So someone in charge of a billion dollar corporation can't afford 60k a month?
Thankfully the major leaguers said they'd make up the difference.
