You are a math prof and just realized this?
Some influenza strains look about the same if you measure the way the lunatics measured, like percentage of tested ICU patients or whatever, as opposed to percentage of infected.

Let me get this straight, in March, the fatality rate was estimated to be 3.4% when the population sample was very small. Which, by the way, everyone under the sun knew would decline over time. Then, as expected, as time went on they noticed the estimated fatality rate declined as the population sample increased.
You must be a Bayesian, making up your own population sample a priori. Or, you're a math professor at some unknown podunk school like ITT Tech. Or, best advice, stick to the useless subject of math. Leave the critical thinking to the other fields.
Thanks for your opinion!

In more news that doctors and politicians are lying to us so they can get rich and continue their fascist power grabs, the WHO has changed the official death rate of coronavirus from 3.4% to a measly 0.26% and likely will drop even more. What changed? All these so called doctors and experts were basing stats on only people they tested instead of population sampling, just as I pointed out at the very start of this whole charade in numerous threads.
This is malicious incompetence and the doctors and so called experts need to be jailed and charged with terrorism.
You are deliberately confusing case fatality rate and infection fatality rate. You are also deliberately mischaracterizing what the WHO said.
This has been pointed out to you multiple times from the very start of your whole charade in numerous threads.

Show me where you said the coronavirus death rate is 0.26% in the initial threads where I pointed out they fearmongering with false statistics. All I see were you fearmongering so called doctors and experts saying we would have millions dead. And yet I pointed out you didn't do population sampling, which is the one true measure.
That came from the CDC I believe. The Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) is now believed to be 0.26% in the U.S. It may be even lower if the percentage of asymptommatic cases is higher than what they believe.
Our lives were destroyed.
Our economy was destroyed
Our freedoms were destroyed
Our rights were taken away.
Our businesses were destroyed.
Our sanity was taken away
Citizens were reporting on their neighbors
Sex offenders were being released from jail to make room for sun bathers and salon owners.
Our Constitution was written to protect us from Government Tyranny and it failed.

So now you are just trying to cover your own butt and disowning all the fearmongering your ilk has done to society. We all saw you doctors and so called experts fearmongering us with Swiss cheese statistics that I saw is wrong from the very start. Now, your kind is too proud to admit you are ever wrong and still attempting to grab power and fearmonger the gullible of Society. The American founding fathers revolted for less.
This article linked is on an fringe website and riddled with factual error.
Hopefully this thread is flagged for providing intentional disinformation.
The Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) is still higher than in a bad flu season. On the other hand, during a bad flu season we never had so many governors require (with executive orders) nursing homes to take infected patients.

Ha, I've caught you lying doctors and all you can do is attack the messenger. The only disinformation that have come is from the doctors and so called experts with their 3.4% death rate and millions dead.
Resounding dismantling of this erroneous article thus far.

You first need to admit that you deliberately confused case fatality rate and infection fatality rate. You also need to admit that you deliberately mischaracterized what the WHO said.
Everyone on this thread, even your little cult buddies, knows that you deliberately posted false information to start this thread. You are known to be prone to lying.
Make the admissions. You life will be better once you admit to being a compulsive liar. The healing can begin.

No! This doesn't fit our narrative. Oh and Biden doesn't have Dementia. Wear a mask!!
how come 100k more Americans died than normal if it was just the flu?
So, you're totally comfortable, then, with 860,000 dying from COVID? Because if 100,000 have died with a 0.26% rate, then that indicates that only about 38.5 million people were infected. Extrapolate that to 332 million people and you get 860,000 deaths. That's not even remotely comparable to the flu, more deaths than the Civil War.
the more you talk, the dumber you seem wrote:

In the 2017/2018 Winter flu season nearly 80,000 died. It’s definately somewhat worse than the flu. But a very high percentage of deaths are nursing home deaths in States where Governors wrote executive orders requiring nursing homes to take infected patients.
First off, every scholarly source states CFR is a moving target and requires solid data - and cannot be precisely known during a pandemic.
But since you're good at Math, let's use the US as an example:
Known Covid-19 cases: 1,745,689
Reported Covid-19 deaths: 102,108
Doing the math.... we're sitting at an almost 5.85% fatality rate so far in the US, which is pretty much the global average.

2017/2018 look slike a little blip next to COVID.
2017 peak- one week above 10% excess deaths (9-13%)
2020: multiple weeks above 30% excess fatalities.
30%+ more people were dying than normal.

As I said, it is somewhat worse than the flu, ~80,000 in the 17/18 Winter flu season to ~102,000 now. If we were smart about it and hadn’t infected so many elderly in NY, NJ, PA, etc. by forcing infected patients into nursing homes, we may have done much better and saved thousands of lives.
