So what's with this continued lockdown and threatened return to lockdown

Democrats don’t want to go back to work. Stimulus checks and unemployment pay is their nirvana. Let’s all try a new recipe!

Written a month ago. If you compare what the doctor was thinking at that time with what has actually transpired, you would (if you had the cognitive capacity) come to a different conclusion than suggested by the sexy headline.

I love how the stay-at-home crowd loves calling the lockdown skeptics “science deniers” however when a expert gets up and questions their beliefs they put their heads in the sand and refuse to hear it.
It all comes down to believing the experts that coincide with your predetermined view point. I guess you can turn around and accuse me of being guilty of the same thing; the only difference is I’m not trying to force you to leave your house while the stay-at-home extremists are trying to force me to stay inside.

We're now in the last week of May. Both articles are from April. A lot has happened since then.
Try to keep up.
Sweden's death toll has far surpassed the tolls in neighboring Nordic countries, which have all imposed more restrictive containment measures.
"According to AFP's own database, Sweden's virus death rate of 399 per million inhabitants is far higher than Norway's 43 per million, Denmark's 97, or Finland's 55."

Sweden has a higher rate because of a vastly higher use metro and transport system. It's been shown in all the cases with high use metros, like New York, London, Paris, Sao Paolo etc. Need to move on from comparing apples to oranges.

They have lots of public transportation in Oslo, Helsinki and Copenhagen.

Before you tell us how the Swedish response is superior to the lockdowns in other countries, I bet you can't tell us what Swedes actually did as far as their voluntary restrictions as well as their health systems response to the virus. A little hint: it wasn't business as usual.

Nothing like Stockholm area in density & usage.
Also, Sweden has a lot more travelers from Asia coming in and out.
Obvioulsy can't be compared to the other Nordic countries. How about Sweden's neighbor, the UK? How does that compare?

How do you choose which one is "close" or "comparable"? How about Germany, Austria? They both have cities with high transit use, international travel and have had lower infection and death rates. Germany is a lot closer to Sweden than UK.

yeah imagine how bad it would have been Tokyo had the virus ever reached Japan...
Yes, imagine. Imagine if Tokyo had actual lockdowns. Instead, people were drinking in bars the whole time. I wonder how it all ended up well for them?

There is very little difference in public transportation between Stockholm and the other major Nordic cities. Copenhagen is actually more dense that Stockholm and has a larger metropolitan area.
Stockholm had 360 million annual subway ridership.
Copenhagen has 79 million.
Which one is a lot greater?

Apples to Oranges.
Another article about the opinions of an extremely well respected doctor from Stanford. You can also listen to his interview if interested .
The science denying from the stay-at-home cultists is really breathtaking.
Sweden's economy is still doomed, herd immunity is not working, and they have higher death than what they anticipated. Sure they were totally right.
