So this morning I was reading a cool story about how a 77-year old Japanese coaching legend has decided to get back in the game at his alma mater after not coaching for 20 years. Near the end of the article, I was blown away by the following line:

Aoba's home is close by the Daito Bunka athlete dormitory in Higashi Matsuyama, Saitama, but he will now live in the Nihon team dormitory in Inagi, Tokyo alongside athletes almost 60 years younger than him.
Is that normal? Do the coaches in Japan always live in the same dorms as the athletes? Anyone know what it's like? Are the in the same hallway or is a coach say in a separate unit and the athletes in a cluster of condos/apartments across the way?
