Is he okay? Sat on the track and didn’t move for a few minutes then threw up a lot. After that the video feed cut off.
Anybody know if this will come out on YouTube eventually? I'd like to see it.
Here we go again. wrote:

That dude fought hard for that sub 4. That last 200 was inspirational.
worst part about being a fan of this sport: dumb paywalls set up by the incompetent MileSplit and FloTrack
I think they said it will be put on Youtube
Here is the link:
No thanks to the pacer. Man brought them in at a 2:03 clocking looks like. Big balls on leo. Cant wait to see what he does in college.

Yeah thru 809 meters. Would be like 201 thru 800. Almost perfect pace work there
Other guy should’ve dropped out tho
Perhaps the most inspirational all HS race ever given the circumstances. So many HS kids stepping up to do great things across the country despite adversity.
Jakob was running 3:42 1500m (sub 4 mile equivalent) at 15yo
Given that Leo beat Cole at the Desert Classic in September, then came back a couple weeks later at the Clovis Invite to finish second by just 2 secs to Nico, this race lends credence to many's opinion that Leo is the best all-around hs mid/distance runner this year and the second best distance/xc runner to Nico.
Damn, too bad Strangio had to sit out this race. However, he stated he'll be back racing later this summer.
With most states slowly reopening, pretty sure this is not the end of the season for these guys. If the NBON/NSAF meet (whatever it's called now) goes off in July, despite the summer heat/humidity in North Carolina, another sub-4 attempt could be made. Music City and Sir Walter Miler races (if they are still on) are also possibilities.
Hope they can put together a replacement for the Brooks PR 2-mile race that would include tonight's guys, EJ Holland, Josh Methner, the CT boys, and hopefully Nico & Jayce.
Just imagine how many more of these kids would have gone sub4 this year if they had more racing under them to get it dialed in and more shots at fast races. That kid from Texas, Boyden, Strangio, Culpepper, Sprout, maybe Young.
Damn shame about t's virus.
Most impressive part is he did this in new balance spikes.
If he ran in a real pair he might have been able to go much faster. I’d bet he’s the first HS sub 4 in NB
Astro says the 3:59 is really only a 4:06 because of the pacers
Really like the one-turn staggered start, which had to be a big help to the runners that first lap. The normal start for a boys 1600 meter race can be dangerous, especially with an elite field.
his splits were almost exactly the sam as jim ryun's in his high school state meet
With 250 meters to go, Billy Mills transformed into a spirit eagle and entered Leo Daschbach's body. That kick was ridiculous... it actually looked fake. That kid who tried to go with him was kicking up a storm as well. I watched that last 250 meters about a dozen times.
How does this " meet " go off at a public high school in California where all public schools are closed. With an announcer, lights on, auto timing and fans. Someone please explain. All tracks at Public schools in my area are locked shut.
