Surging...the media's favorite, market tested word.
Oft use to push establishment candidates -- remember Mayor Pete and Liz Warren "surging" when in fact they were going nowhere?
Now the go to term to scare people over Covid.
Surging.
But also spiking, soaring, raging, inundating.
These are not the words of journalists.
These are words intended to produce fear.

Great idea.
Let's all just stay in and watch and order stuff online and communicate solely via electronics.

That which is asserted without evidence (and even *contrary* to evidence)...
may be dismissed without evidence.

Good job remembering to use the word "sheeple". That certainly indicates a serious mind expressing serious thoughts!

GA experienced an early hotspot at the same time NYC did due to a "super-spreader event", a fiuneral on Feb 29th that ultimately lead to 24 deaths. So their government saw first hand how bad an outbreak could be. The local hospital was so overwhelmed, at one point it had to transfer out 40% of all patients.
It's like all the other states thought what happened in NYC couldn't happen to them.
So f'ing dumb. This country is overflowing with stupid.
Yup

As Georgia continues to battle the spread of COVID19, Governor Kemp and state officials are preparing for enhanced testing and hospital surge capacity to ensure the health and well-being of our citizens. To address ongoing capacity needs, Governor Kemp and state officials will reactivate the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) utilizing state-owned assets – hospital beds, medical equipment, etc. – procured at the Governor’s direction through the GEMA/HS earlier this year. First, however, the state plans to leverage a new contract for enhanced bed capacity with a metro Atlanta area hospital. More details will be provided in the coming days.

How would all you impatient people have reacted after Pearl Harbor got hit and Roosevelt sent thousands of young men and women over to Europe and the Pacific to fight a war the US didn't start. People were on rations for 5 years, had to do without for 5 years, work in factories making war equipment and didn't know if their loved ones were dead or alive, as communications were slow and often not forthcoming for months.
You whine and protest because you can't go to bars, play sports or go to a concert, all "essential" in your lives.
How about being a bit patient and making sure that you don't spread the virus to others because you don't care.

As a citizen who wants to help the situation, stay home as much as possible.
As a government in Georgia, we should shut down again until we reach the reopening benchmarks set by the CDC. We never did that, which is why we are in a crisis again.

A crowded building is on fire and the only thing Kemp will do is try to figure out how to treat whoever makes it out. It has never occurred to him that he should put out the fire.

Not sure where you're talking about. I'm in Georgia, and a surgeon who lives in our apartment building told my wife last week that he had two patients who needed surgery but nowhere to put them since the ICUs were full of covid patients. Another friend, the wife of a (different) doctor, has been saying for the last few weeks that the hospitals were filling up again.
What kind of surgeon are you? Lol
