I predict 8:59 3000 and 9:32 for 3200 next year.

Ah, so astro has revealed himself. He is an NYC brat that is a Tuohy fan. Can't take it that another girl has run faster than Tuohy.
I'm just a fan of athletes who achieve real results. And I'm protective of those results when I see corner cutting.
So let's imagine that an athlete betters an existing track record with similar conditions by a fraction of a second. Do you honestly think that they should get the record if there were no cones or curb on the track that allowed this runner to run closer to the left line on the turns. Or a coach recording a time from across the track with one stop watch as compared to FAT. Or an athlete that has to warm up properly with a set time period that occurs in the middle of a meet compared to a runner going for a time at their own preferred time of the day? Or ideal weather?
Really?
If your drafting theory was true, everybody would be doing it. Can you give even 1 example of a runner, who has a pr from drafting in practice vs. a race situation?

Brynn Brown
Can you give me a example of someone else who participated in this type of work out with this set up and then posted it on instagram? Pacing and drafting are not a mere theory. Never seen a race where a female runner had 2-3 faster male runners shuttling her wire to wire. I've seen pacers and drafting in pro races, but never a scenario whete multiple faster runners escorting another from start line to finish or running solely for the benefit of enhacing a slower runner's time. As to practice, never seen this type of "time trial", maybe bc it is so patently unrealistic and a bit of a cheat.
You are starting to show your lack of interest in track and field by admitting that you have watched nothing this spring. I already told you that I have watched dozens this year. Every good runner is doing it. You didn't like Hart's video. Well here is Wolfgram's. She did the same thing in a 5k. The guys have multiple guys pacing by jumping in and out every other lap.

Never the best example. I got no impression that the other two runners were there just to oace her and they left her in the final lap. But in any event, cannot be compared to a real race.
Fastest 5k in MS virtual.
Thank you for making my point. A work out or time trial or whatever you want to call it where a platoon of other runners run and jump in solely to pace and draft protect another runner to boost their time is not comparable to a real race but is instead an attempt to artificially boost the runner's time in a manner that they could not achieve in a real race. It is therefore ridiculous to compare that to a legitimate record. Thanks.
I have no doubt that every competitive runner can achieve a faster time than normal with this set up. That is exactly my point. This is categorically different than a real race.
You cannot compare apples to oranges. Just acknowledge then that a time trial allows a competitive runner to achieve a better time than they could in a regular race.
I'd rather not get involved in a childish game of "who's the greatest," but if that 8x1000 @ 3:05-3:00 workout really happened 10 days ago, I feel pretty confident in saying that Brynn Brown is at the top of the deepest high school girls field ever right now.
That's three truly eye popping workouts and time trials over the course of a week and a half. What a shame that we don't get to enjoy the historic matchups that would have happened between her and the spectacular class if 2020.
Funny that was your point when you were harping that you had never heard of a time trial that had multiple pacers for the whole distance. Now you say that you were making the point all along that all of these kids doing it have an unfair advantage. I will ensure that I don't compare Brown's performane to real races. So that means she has run the fastest time in history by a Longshot because I am not considering Tuohy or Cain in the comparison. She definitely is the all time Queen of the track.
Lol.
So your superior knowledge and ruling over athletics...pacing and so called drafting, which you have proved you know nothing about, make records not eligible for actual consideration, we must have been hoodwinked! I suppose the only “real” records that count are in “actual races” without any pacers or drafting where you completely destroy your opponents. If you sat behind one of them, they must be pacing you! Well goodbye to all world records above 800m! Looks like Astro is the new president and supreme judge of World Athletics! :)
I just edited Wikipedia to make Steve Scott the rightful American record holder.

astro, this isn't cycling or triathlon. Runners aren't penalized for drafting. It is perfectly legal.
Also, a time trial is a race. From Lydiard to Canova, coaches have been prescribing them for decades. And, yes, she could probably go faster in a race, maybe low 9:30's with her current fitness.
All world records, all high school records, all national records have had "drafting." There has yet to be a solo effort because that would not be recognized as a race. At least Brown ran with two other competitors, making it legitimate.
Jeljo, this has to be one of the stupidest post I have seen. Everything is wrong with it, but let me address one thing......the Actual and Real 3200m High School record is Tuohy and it was a 100% solo !!!!!!! Go watch the race, it is so much more impressive than Brown. I have never seen such a rigged race than that Brown video wth guys pacing her, cheering her on as they are on her hip at the end! After watching her horrible pacing in that 1600m workout there is no way on God’s green earth she could had run this time without the boys pacing her. It would be a slap in the face if this race goes in the history books at all in any way to the girls who performed in a real and fair race! This video is just evidence of cheating. I would not be saying this if she was out there by herself, then I would be amazed and impressed.
And one last comment to the idiotic statement about the weather someone made. The conditions were obviously perfect since the girl in the bleachers watching had a hooded sweatshirt on.....yeah ok it was so hot and humid..... give me a break!!!!!!
I don't understand any negativity toward this girl and her workouts. I have never seen 3 workouts like these by a high school girl. She is on a level that we have never seen by Cain or Tuohy or Decker. All records will be smashed next year.
Oh please. It is not debatable. You simply cannot compare the set up we saw here to a real race. If you want to petition for a new record event called a time trial where platoons of faster runners pace and draft protect a runner from wire to wire to coax the fastest possible time and a time that runner otherwise cannot achieve under real race conditions, fine. But the idea the you seriously want to try to cheat a real record holder who did it on her own in a real race by citing this farce where the runner got advantages far beyond what any runner in an actual race situation gets is disgraceful. It is apples and oranges. OK. BB ran an apparently fast "time trial" where she was shuttled wire to wire by faster runners. Could other top miles run just as fast or faster with the same set up? Probably?. But now if she and her apologists want a record, go set it in an actual race without all the time trialing advantages we witnessed.
She will get top 3 at NXN if it happens this year and if the conditions don’t negatively affect her.
