I'd like to see a video of the whole thing. Seems fast to me.

why tho?
Seems legit to me. IAAF lists his PRs as 3:47 and 4:06, as well as solid over distance times (8:13 3k, 8:47 steeple, 14:19 5k). A couple guys on my team that have run low 4:0x and played basketball in high school could probably bust out something similar. I've heard Centro can ball, he might be able to run 4:20s.
I saw it on instagram. It’s a boring video, but he did it.
He’s keeping his dribble way too high! He’ll never make the team!
He's traveling. Shouldn't count.

Claaaaaaassic DSore!
No rail or cones on the turn. Record doesn't count.
Josh Thompson is my pick to set an absurd WR in this. 3:34.7 in the 1500 this winter, and played basketball as a walk-on in college. He was a guard too, so he definitely should be able to handle the ball.
Looks like Nick Symmonds had this record for a moment - it was over 6 minutes, which seems exceptionally easy for a guy who broke a 4 minute mile.
I played point guard in high school and AAU - and I can do this in about 5:30 - 5:40. I can run a mile in about 5:10.
I believe if you can find someone who can run a low 4 and can dribble you may get a 4:15 - 4:25, but this is a pretty damn good time. The dribble looks legitimate enough, you could be pedantic and say it's too high or that he carries the ball but not any worse than you will sometimes see in the NBA.
Legit.

Everyone in the NBA is traveling. Five steps, while weaving between players is the norm these days.
Saracen?
Anyone know what is happening with the UNC outdoor track. Will it be usable the coming year?
that's a middle school a few miles from UNC, the track has seen better days

haha-agree---anyone that used to see Patrick Ewing play-4 steps with the ball and he would still be good: impressive time regardless!
Antetokounmpo and Williamson are the worst offenders. They run around defenders like its an obstacle course. Ridiculous!
To me, the Euro-step is an egregious travel, but an NBA referee's video shows clearly how it is within the rules. I say, change the rule. They are in the air when they pick up the dribble, then are legally allowed two steps from the point of landing.
You guys think that being good at basketball has anything to do with this? Lol. It would take someone with zero experience maybe 1 day of practice to be able to dribble the ball well enough run around the track with it.
