Strangio being injured is the story behind the story. This is exactly why this whole thing is stupid. All these "look at me, look at me" time trials and dumb. Does any D1 coach want to see potential recruits out there busting miles for no reason at all? Portland should reconsider his scholarship.
Just because you’re not having your kids do it, doesn’t mean it’s dumb. If they want to do it, they should. For them, maybe there is a reason. Maybe seeing how fast they can run is what motivates them. Maybe it’s just fun.
D1 coaches probably want to see potential recruits who are into the sport and love to compete. Kids participate in high school sports to compete. Since there is no real competition this season, great to see them making the best of it.
And speaking of “look at me”, why don’t you do another interview and tell some more lies about your background to make yourself look important? Sounds like you’re just bitter your kids weren’t invited.
