The absolute energy return for the adios boost, in joules, is like half that of a Vaporfly. The energy return percentage, which is what 99.993% of people are actually talking about, is not very relevant here. The high compliance of the VF allows it to store more energy in the first place and its high energy return percentage allows it to aid the runner. Boost, in the thicknesses typically found on running shoes, cannot store as much energy, and that is the main limiting factor of boost: can't use too much because it's heavy.
He's a very talented runner and did well on this course.
