Something that hasn't been pointed out much is that he was over 10 Miles from his house. He was definitely not out for a jog.
You're making the case that he deserved being killed. The issue is that it is apparent that the only thing the father and son knew about Arbery was that he was black. That makes their theoretical citizens arrest illegal and that crime created a volatile situation that resulted in Arbery's death. These two facts cannot be denied.
SDSU Aztec - 100% agree with you. As other have said, the district attorney said Arbery had committed no crime. Whatever actions in the house that people think constitute a crime were simply not, as stated by someone who works with the law every day as part of their job. End of discussion with that. Now to what you said. You hit the nail right on the head. You didn't say this part, but let's say Arbery had committed a crime (unlawful entry into a house or burglary, whatever you want to say). It simply doesn't not constitute the death penalty. To what you said, it was an unlawful "citizens arrest" and it created a volatile situation in which Arbrey was killed. The McMichael's should be charged. I won't speculate on what charges that should be because I'm sure their are many many different charges that could be filed and at the moment I'm typing I can't distinguish the difference between say 1st & 2nd degree murder because it's been a while and I would rather not make a mistake in that regard.
Runnerguy2016 - he was 10 miles away from his house? Ok? I never run by my house because the roads have lots of traffic and there are better places to run that are 10-15 miles away. Just because he was a certain distance away from his house doesn't mean he wasn't running.
