Someone I know is going to attempt this challenge. I’m just curious, how would one go about training for this?

You must have made a typo and meant 100 miles in 24 hours. A 24 mile long run would be pretty easy for anyone seriously training for a marathon (70+ miles a week).
If it isn’t a typo, I would go about training for it by having that person stop self-promoting easy challenges and actually running 5-6 days a week. Spend less time on instagram and put one foot in front of the other. Spend less time thinking they are going to be an inspiration to others and just run for their own personal enjoyment and fitness.
I’d wager most people on here could do 24miles in 2.5 hrs!!
I give this troll post a 10/10. Well done. Very subtle. I was triggered by the audacity of the post at first until I realized it was a troll. Hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people run a marathon each year. Having 24 hours to do it is a joke. You could just walk it.
Actually these weird 24 miles in 24 hour challenges are real. This thing is that you have to run just one mile in one hour.
I don't think you really need to train for this. You just need the will to do this kind of thing.
I think the original poster is referring to these challenges I’ve been seeing on social media. People try to run a mile each hour for 24 hours straight. I’m curious as well how someone would plan on preparing for something like this as well.

Maybe it's a 24 miles, 24 beers, in 24 hours challenge and they just left off the beer part? Now that would be more FUN!
i remember a thread on here a long time ago about a guy who did 24 sub-5 miles in 24 hours. obviously that kind of challenge is more interesting than a jogfest.

Add on 24 donuts and you've got a real challenge!

Have you really completed the challenge if you don't also jerk off 24 times?
Per his IG, I believe Nick Symmonds (goat) just did this challenge.
This would be easy, just run 24 miles and be done with it.
BUT, if you had to run 1 mile each hour for 24 hours, that's a ton more difficult.

isn't there a challenge where you have three numbers and you assign them to jerking off, beers, and miles within a 24 hour period? i forget what the numbers were.
found it. 6, 12, 18, 24 - assigned to jerking off, doughnuts, beers, and miles. all but the most freaky dudes will jerk 6 times. the ladies have an advantage there.
easy way out is to do 24 miles. since i'm injured i would probably do 12 miles, 18 beers, 24 doughnuts, jerk 6 times before the drinking started.
how about 8 miles every 4 hours
I honestly thought the challenge was 1 mile per hour for 24 separate house -- which in theory a lot of runners could pull off, but there would be fatigue issues due to lack of sleep for some. Though there's be nothing to stop them from napping during the portion of the hour they weren't running.
