Why is it that many of the pro runners do not reply to tweets?

I've never replied to a tweet in my life. Does that make me rude?
You mean - 'why don't the interns managing pro runner's social media accounts reply to me?'

that is quite possibly the most non-essential job i've ever heard of
Unless they have tweeted something controversial about transgenders in sport, or Mo Farah, then always assume they are interns, social media managers, or bots.
Lmao you expect too much from pro runners. I'd bet less than 20 of them worldwide have others running their social media accounts. Nobody cares that much.
A 'pro runner'. Yeah . . . what are they pulling after taxes, like 50K?
Ooooh . . . sounds like a real reason to be arrogant.
Then what happens after age 35? Starbucks? Chapters? Burger King? Coaching?
of course they are rude, they are runners.

Call that 10 pro years, then they pulled in 500k total, if they were frugal they still have 400k and if they're willing to remain frugal, they never have to work again.
Anyone who has to spend more than 10 or 20k a year is just addicted to stuff and or luxury.
Not true. Nobody saves 80% of their income. Especially those earning 50K per year. They live pay check to pay check.
Also even if you saved 400K, that is peanuts.
If you invest that into ETFs and get 3% dividends, that equals a measly 12K per year.
2300 a month is the cheapest rent that I've seen in my city. That's minimum 29000 just on rent and food.

Most Runners are nice, friendly, most of them don't reply as they don't speak English.
Winnie Nanyando sent me amessage on Facebook after I wished her a Happy Birthday, Meseret Defar is really nice, I used to write to Bezunesh Bekele and she sent me an Ethiopian Sweatsuit and Jacket, That is beyond nice.
I don't care personally. As long as they run fast.

Are you nailed down or something? Find a cheaper neighborhood. Commute with a cheap old reliable car.
You can make it on 10 grand a year easy if you are miserly enough. A pro runner should be exactly that type, like an ascetic.
Pro runners having interns is the funniest thing I've read here in a while.

Rent?! Pro runners are coach-surfers.

You gotta be kidding me. This is not cycling my friendo. Most of these elite runners can't afford that. Show me a runner under contract making 5 million euros a year on salary alone, not counting sponsorship money.

Rent is $800 a month in Boulder for a single bedroom apt.
Some of them are super chill. One time we added Kyle Merber to our group chat on facebook and he was just chilling with us in the chat for an hour.

Because people ask dumb questions. Even on Strava, pro runners get comments like, "How many miles a week do you run?" and it's all laid out right in front of them. Of course a pro runner wouldn't respond to that.
