Russia probably spent more money it doesn’t have to launch the missiles then it cost to shoot them down. Maybe it’s time we give Ukraine the tools it needs to really crush Russia - a few hundred tomahawks hitting Moscow and St. Petersburg would get the RussoNazis attention. Nazi logic.You are right. Russia's Kinzhal "hypersonic" missiles cost about $10 mil USD each and Russia's Kalibr costs about $6.5 mil. UA shot down about 18 missiles over Kyiv. Why is Russia indiscriminately bombing civilian targets hundreds of miles away from the front lines instead of trying to coordinate long range missile strikes on UA forces on the front lines? Could it be . . . Nazi logic? Or is it just that Russia's armed forces are a joke and know nothing about modern combined arms warfare? Also, it is worth noting that the Kinzhal was supposed to be Russia's trump card over missile defense systems. It now appears either that the Kinzhal is not actually a hypersonic missile or that the Patriot batteries are able to take down hypersonic missiles. This is a huge strategic loss for Russia as it gives NATO a first strike capability if missile defense systems can take out a Russian counterattack.
Meanwhile, Prigozhin pulls Wagner from some of the front lines in Bakhmut in order to have MOD forces replace them. But then the MOD forces run as soon as UA attacks. But this must be another one of Russia's brilliant tactical retreats in progress.
And for those of you who think that the third world is cheering on Russia for confronting the West after being the victims of Western colonialism for over a century, it looks like the new Wagner boss is same as the old boss (or maybe even much worse). Wagner gets hired by African dictators, like in Central African Republic, to prop up the dictatorship and put down any popular dissent. In exchange, CAR gives Wagner access to natural resources, which Wagner exploits to fund its operations in Ukraine and elsewhere. These deals are hopelessly one sided and essentially rob these third world countries of their natural resources with nothing in return except for the protection of a corrupt dictatorship. There will be no grand nonaligned movement lead by Russia against the West. Russia's intentions are not to create a new and just world order in stark contrast to previous Western colonialism and US hegemony. Russia simply wants to engage in the same bad acts as the West but with the purpose of cementing authoritarian rule over any semblance of democracy.

We are getting close to 1 1/2 year. It is obvious U.S. and the rest of N.A.T.O. do not want Ukraine to lose quickly. It is also obvious U.S. and the rest of N.A.T.O. will not allow Ukraine to attack Moscow.
I have no issue with the people of Ukraine. For the sake of Ukrainian citizens, I have called on President Z to do a negotiated surrender for over 1 1/2 year. From day one I have stated President Z is a fool. All President Z has done to Ukraine is make his people suffer.
U.S./N.A.T.O. will not allow President Z/Ukraine to attack Moscow because China will not allow that to occur, too close to WW3.
If President Z does not surrender today, all that is guaranteed is more death of Ukrainian citizens.

Photos and videos can recently be found online of Russian soldiers around Bakhmut, Ukraine posing with and mocking the body of a dead U.S. citizen, who formerly served in our armed forces. Among other things, this is a violation of the Geneva conventions. More importantly, it is yet another example of the hatred that Russians feel for Americans.
All Americans should be aware of these events and the mentality of the Russian enemy we are dealing with. You appeaser types in particular, should be aware of this. That's one of your fellow Americans, who protected you from danger, being treated like that by Russian thugs.

Link to a good article for context on the strike near Kyiv the other day that Russia alleges destroyed a Patriot missile battery:
Synopsis:1) At time of writing, it wasn't clear that allegation was true, but US has since acknowledged "damage" but not "destroyed".
2) It's not clear that it was struck by an incoming missile. Rocket launches are pretty violent in the best of circumstances and sometimes things go bad on launch. The distinction matters because it speaks to the vulnerability of the system to an enemy strike and because losing a launcher degrades the capability, but does not take the greater system off line.
3) Patriot system has multiple nodes on trailers that are usually spatially deployed such that a hit on one does not destroy the other nodes. There is a command node, a radar node, and multiple launcher nodes. Radar node is most likely target because anti-radiation missile can home on it, and if destroyed, it takes the whole battery off line. Losing a launch node matters the least because there are multiples so system stays active. Losing a command center is highest value because it implies you've lost some of the (limited number of) personnel who can operate the system and it takes the system off line.
4) Patriot is a high priority target for Russia not just because of it's tactical value, but perhaps more for it's propaganda value.
