Add another Chica to the mix. I have recently begun posting on LetsRun after reading many of the threads for months now and realizing that we women can add some balance and wisdom to many issues and topics raised here. I have been competing for 30yrs which would make me older than dirt suffice to say I started back in England at the age of 9, do the math :O) My claim to fame??? well I used to train on the track where Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile. The club system over there is superb and I was a member of Oxford's squad.Mind you the track was horribly slow, all thick cinders and dreadful footing unless you wore giant spikes.Still enjoying racing around the US as a Master, its in my blood, I am a hopeless case :O)

This has been a great thread to read. Never realized how many ladies were out there. I've got a question for both the guys and the gals (hope the women are ok with being called that)...
Do any of you lady runners have a hard time finding people to run with? I don't care if I run with men or women, I just like to train occassionally with another runner around my pace. However, I find it hard to find other women who are as serious about training as I am and then the men either don't think I can keep up or there is that thing where their wives don't want them running with another woman. I live in a small town so maybe its just this area. Anyone have this same thing going on? I just run by myself or with my dogs.
I lurk, and occasionally post. I also have the same problem as you do trail running mom. Most of the women I know aren't serious runners and just like to do the elliptical at the gym for 10 minutes. I've just been going alone, but would love to find someone.

The thing about being a female poster in the Letsrun world is that if you post more than several times especially on one thread, bet your last dollar you will be accused of some sort of attention getting technique. It makes me laugh really, because noone ever said this message board was restricted to males only, infact I met my dashingly handsome husband right here on Letsrun.... You can believe I got bashed for that too, ask me if I care :O) I also have the "balls" to post under my real name at all times which is alot more than I can say for most menfolk on here...........Girl Power!
