Damn, didn't think I'd see that. Historic win if we can hold it. Great play, very pleased.
I am at work and can't watch, can't wait to watch it on the net.

Will that do?
It'll get you to the final, to play either Brazil of SouthAfrica on saturday... unless spain score 2wice in 10 minutes
Bradley sent off with red card.
Excellent win, shame it doesn't matter.
This is so true.

spain is clearly the better and more talented team, but the best team does not always win...that's why they play
A good argument could have been made that we were tied for worst team in the tournament (I do think that we are better than New Zealand and Iraq) and now we're skating into the final with a dramatic win against the best in the World! Onye definitely wins the player of the match. He was stellar clogging up the inside.
This win is huge for us.
Yes!
Oguchi!
Everyone who thought we didn't belong in the semis: eat some crow!
Great win for USA soccer. What a difference a Bocanegra makes, such a stronger defensive effort. Donovan showed that he is the fittest man on the field, absolutely swarming the ball for the entire match. Onyewu (sp?) was downright amazing in the second half. And Altidore did some good old fashioned American ass kicking up front (did you see him literally toss that guy before his goal?).
This was as thrilling as Gold Cup 98 when we beat Brazil.
Simply an awesome match to watch! I watched online with European announcers and they were pretty much speechless in the end. What a game, and what great glory for the US!
Maybe some of this headlining will help foster some younger players to come on the US side.
you usa buffoons are now becoming cocky and arrogant. No wonder why the rest of the world hates your arses. btw, it doesn't matter until next year. and im sure you idiots will lose to brazil in the finals.
I've seen the US have glimpses of strength ever since the world cup in 2002, but it seemed back then we lacked guys who could finish. In fact it seemed like we were scared to try and finish back then. The new breed certainly has changed. At their best they just don't seem to realize or care who they are playing.
Now if we can only get them to become more consistent and cohesive. The defense (including Howard) was absolute money today. The offense had glimpses of glory and made them count. We need more from the mid-offense and more often.

Wrong. The US is more wealthy, intelligent, and powerful than any other nation, which makes us arrogant. Which in turn makes us hate pansies like the Brits and the French.
Glad the US won, but the US commentators were so annoying. They felt the need to say Spain was ranked number one every 5 seconds. It was really irritating.
The US has arrived. Soccer is now an American sport.
You can keep your sawker. Football is still what every one else plays.
what everyone plays in the US that is.
Still a great day for the US soccer team. Now let's see if it makes the front page of tomorrow's sports newspaper and then we can call it a great day for US Soccer.
Compared to Soccer few play recreational football.

You said intelligent.
Haha. Good one.
You're wasted on here with a wit like that.
click on www.si.com and tell me that soccer hasnt arrived...
This all really started when Paul Cagliari scored that last minute goal against Trinidad & Tobago to get the US into the 1990 World Cup. From there a chain of events have lead indirectly to todays victory.
In American soccer fandom Cagliari's goal was the shot heard around the world.
This game probably mattered more to Spain than it did to us (and it matters a great deal to US soccer to win this game) because that little smidgen of doubt that the Spaniards thought they erased with the European Championship is now back. Espana still has the monkey on its back - abundantly talented but highly suspect when it matters most.As for the US this win, while coming at an inconsequential tournament, still is very important to building confidence in our remaining qualifiers and lead up to the WC.Of course all that being said, I still doubt we get out of group play next year - but if we do it will be because of this victory today where it all started to turn around...Great job by the US today...wow!
