Bridgewater gave a great effort--the scoring was tied with 1.5 miles to go, but W&L was able to make a few passes up Fanghorn (the course's monster hill)to seal the deal.

"One of the hardest courses in Virginia"
actually one of the hardest courses anywhere...
Not that the teams that have won the ODAC in past few years haven't been great teams but it seems as though Lynchburg has severely under-achieved at the conference meet since the class of '03 graduated. Lynchburg used to dominate year after year. It's not like they don't have the talent. Maybe and hopefully we'll see a stronger performance on a much different course at regionals.
anyone else see UT-Tyler scored 15 points in their conference meet? times were nothing special but will they be able to push top 3 in the region?

i'm not sure why they have seemed to fall off at ODACs the last few years, but i do know that they do, on paper, have the best -most talented- team. and that their top 7 are all freshmen and sophomores.
i'm pretty sure injuries could be used as an excuse
Well considering that they are ranked #1 in the region, I'd say anything less than top-3 would be a disappointment.
Flynn is a junior, although I don't think he ran more than one race (nyu) as a sophomore. Falke has been in college for three xc seasons, but he may not have used up eligibility his first year when he was at VMI. He had a weird year last year and may still be a sophomore academically.
LC just had an off day, while W&L and BC ran about as well as they possibly could.
Flynn was great, as usual, and Falke is close to where he should be. The rest of the LC guys were just off. That can happen on a really tough course.
Unfortunately, none of the ODAC teams go five deep like the top teams in the region.
nothing special? i'd say they're pretty good for guys from the south region. i'll bet they go 1-3 at regionals.
Anyone think that Centre and Rhodes may be vulnerable as #3-4 teams after their conference meet? Both teams had spreads that were around 1:30 from 1-5. I could see the quickly improving W&L or Bridgewater offing one or both of these squads if a few guys step up. Then there's Mary Washington, which usually puts their 2-6 guys in a pretty tight pack about a minute behind DeVar.
How did the S/SE teams look in the scac? I heard Colorado College went 1,2,3 and won overall, but they are west region.
You already know the answer to your question. S/SE teams put 8 teams in the top 10 and totally dominated SCAC.

No one care because:
1. It's the south region
2. It's D3, a small step up from middle school.
Look numbskull, this thread has over 200 posts, so obviously some people DO care. Maybe these runners don't run 27 minutes for 10k but they have real heart and soul.
GO CENTRE!!!!
Jason
and by dominated, you mean that the non-south teams went 1,2 and the last 8 teams were from the south region. scac is a clear example of how teams like depauw and colorado college can destroy teams like rhodes and centre, but probably won't make it out of their region while rhodes and centre do.
