I agree with steve scott. its one thing to say he's out-of-line, but in his shoes would you say the same thing? Would you say that if you worked all your life to break an american record to have someone who was raised in Kenya, and run for Kenya, come over and become a citizen and then take your record away?

What is so wrong with outsourcing the American records? It seems perfectly fine to outsource everything else. Steve Scott should help train Lagat to break his record in a similar manner that a software developer has to train his Indian counterpart to take over his job. This would seem to be the most American way to go about it.

While I may not agree with the comments he made, at the end of the day everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however racist it may be(In my opinion).
If you don't agree with his comments, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. He feels that way, and chances are nothing will change that.
I personally don't agree with his statements. He comes across as someone who will cry when his record is broken by the better athlete. Which Lagat is. And no amount of arguing will change that.
The worst thing about the argument pose by people on this thread is that they are so hypocritical it's disturbing. I am almost sure of it that when Lagat runs in an American uniform, he will be getting cheered on by 99.9999% of you morons. And if you don't cheer him on, that shows how moronic you are(In my opinion).
We're talking about running here. It's not a matter of life and death. And that statement is coming from someone who would literally cry if he got injured and couldn't run.
