I'd like to get this guy before he scams anyone, but so far all the tangible evidence is in his favor.

The rest of this I'm going to spell out very clearly, so simple that even a lawyer like Darren will be able to grasp it.

Today (Fri 6/23) at 9:51 am central time I posted that they left at 9:06 central time. At 10:38 am central time I posted some splits, and also noted that day's starting position of 83:30:07 and 988.67 miles.

At 10:52 am central time I noted that they had an hour where they averaged 17.1 mph.

At 12:08 pm central time I posted that the contact with the GPS tracking had been lost. I also noted that the GPS stats were frozen at 91:46:23 and 1025.9 miles. I also noted that the stats at the time GPS was lost was 37.2 miles in 2 hrs 16 min and 16 sec, which is an average of 16.4 mph.

Since they started at 9:06 am central time and the GPS froze 2 hrs 16 min later, that means that it was 11:22 am central time when contact was lost.

At 2:29 pm central time / 3:29 eastern time Darren tweeted that they traveled 90 miles. Now let's do the math.

GPS froze when they had traveled 37.2 miles

3 hrs and 7 min later Darren claims that they went 90 miles, or 52.8 additional miles after the GPS froze.

52.8 miles in 3 hr 7 min = 16.94 mph, and that is after averaging 16.4 for the first 37.2 miles.

Now let us recap:

Tue 6/20 83.22 miles at 13.50 mph

Wed 6/21 69.81 miles at 14.46 mph

Thur 6/22 74.67 miles at 11.84 mph

Fri 6/23 90 miles in 5 hrs 23 min = 16.7 mph

Suddenly when the GPS goes out they can go 90 miles at 16.7 mph????? I am also assuming when Darren tweeted (2:29 central, 3:29 eastern) that he did so immediately after they finished.

To those who questioned me earlier and thought that I might be a troll, I can assure you that I am not. Everything that I have posted, including the calls to the stores, is factual. I find letsrun can be a very useful tool to keep up and follow the sport of running, and it can also can be very entertaining. With the Internet it is nice to be able to follow track and cross country so closely as opposed to the early and mid 70's when I competed. I did pretty good back then (4:10.8 mile, D3), and my son was even better, especially at the longer stuff. Running has been a constant thread in my life, and it is maddening to see cheating dopers, or scammers like this event we are all following.

I like and believe you 'Cmon dude', keep up the good work.

You say you have a tracker, and everyone can follow you, but you don't make it public despite numerous requests until after you stop swimming, and your sponsors get in touch to ask why your tracker isn't online. You continue in a canoe, but carry on telling everyone on social media that you are swimming until you think you might have been spotted, then and only then do you mention the canoe. In the meantime you do several interviews where you clearly had the chance to fully correct the media who are saying you are still swimming, but don't keeping everyone in the dark. You continually say come join me, but have no itinerary and don't publish what time you plan to start even the next day, as well as diverting from your published route. You say that you will meet celebrities and local officials but instead just promote yourself and a couple of sponsors. Essentially you b.s. to big yourself up, but we're never capable of the swim, and now produce the fastest times when the tracker is off, leading some to suggest you are trying to evade observers so you can take a lift, unobserved, in the yatch.

of course, when people ask about how you thought you were capable of doing the swim in the first place, you reply telling them about the work you did on a rowing machine.

So only ONE person works at a business? Whoever saw the RV with no bikes obviously wasn't the person they spoke to when another person rang to check.

Even if someone comes on and says they have seen the RV and no bikes, as much as I'd want to believe it, I'd still need to see photos and video.

I'm fairly certain Leave Darren Alone is just a troll. An impossible combination of dumb and loyal to a two bit television "star". Why would anyone care about this loser? Maybe Darren got him or her out of a DUI. It just seems unrealistic.

Anyway, I'm starting to think Darren will be busted. It's easy to cheat in the West and South where there are smaller populations and people are more spread out (RY made his "best times" before the Rockies). As Darren goes up the Eastern Corridor it's going to be much tougher to avoid people. Of course, he should be well rested for this final stretch of only 700 miles since he has already cheated so much, and if he keeps turning the tracker off, he could easily fake his way to NYC. So I guess I should revise my initial statement to say if he keeps the tracker on, I think he'll be caught.

No word back from the PR guy, by the way. Probably won't hear anything since it's the weekend. Maybe if a few other people write it will motivate him to release the file.

Facts: The GPS tracking froze at 11:22 central time. They had ridden 37.2 miles at that point. At 2:29 central time, 3:29 eastern time, Darren tweeted that they had gone 90 miles for the day, which means he rode an additional 52.8 miles in 3:07, averaging 16.94 mph.

Unfortunately the GPS tracking only shows a beeline straight to the Fairfield Inn in Bristol TN. If you measure that beeline it is 46.4 miles long, but of course that isn't the route they took. We don't know their exact route, but we do know it followed Rt 347 for a while. After all, someone named Jeremy Pell documented via tweet that he saw them on Rt 347, which is significantly farther north of the beeline. With the winding roads that they must have traveled I contend that they drove way farther than the 52.8 miles as indicated by Darren's 90 mile claim. 90 miles just seemed like a reasonable figure to Darren. If any one from Darren's crew reads this, could you provide the exact route you took in that last 3 hours and 7 minutes?

The integrity of the data for this trip is lacking, which is why many people like myself doubt that they are riding the whole way.

How do you know the exact time the GPS tracking froze? Did you just happen to notice it at that time? Is there a screen shot or objective data we can send to media?

I think this is where the thread should stop. Come on guys its been 2 months. Just let the cyclist bike across America. I know he said he would run but due to problems I guess he cant. At least he gets to see the scenary and it makes him happy. That is truly what matters. So it didnt go as planned in the beginning but he's still going to go across Our Country. Drop Your Restraints. Just let it go.
