Goldsack to UVA!!!!!
Goldsack to UVA!!!!!
UVA? Out of the question. But Goldsack disappeared in a flash. Just wondering why?
Very interesting....Goldsack was doing a good job with that distance team...they had gotten better every year...so the GA will take over the distance program?

We have GOT to put some standards on words like "good" & "great" when it comes to coaches on this board. Every coach with a very few exceptions seems to have people out there willing to classify them as "good or great." My favorite is when there is a youngerish D-I coach who has struck the motherlode and gotten their first position as a paid assistant, and suddenly they are being classified as "a great young coach" on here! WHAT!? They are in their first year or two, maybe even third, lets actually let them earn a rep before we bestow the title of "next John McDonnell." End of rant.

Ok let me rephrase my statement...the team has consistently improved since Goldsack has been at USA....is that a more appropriate and factual statement for you coach watch? Please get your panties out of a bunch.
yeah, get your panties out of a bunch...gee
You know I kind of have the same thought with young coaches that start their coaching career at lets say Floirda or Tenn. Because those schools attract some of the best talent in the country does not mean that the young coach is great. But in the same token, being a great coach is not just knowing the technical aspect of coaching. It is more so everything else like recruiting, professionalism, the ability to get the athletes to run through a wall for you.
Yes there are a few out there that have what it takes to be a great coach at a young age. But there are more coaches out there that need the time to mature and learn from other great coaches as to what it takes to be good.
Such as?
last hire of the year...except who fills MSU?
The coach that went to Mason was replaced by a distance coach. A good former runner. Looks like they will keep half the staff as cross and distance coaches. Welcome titanic- coaches will eventually jump off that ship.

Of course Purdue is going to hire someone graduating in December. It makes sense. That's right up JustJack's alley. Why get a qualified or deserving coach? He wouldn't want any more coaches who might have an actual opinion of their own. Anyone with knowledge or who is willing to voice an opinion doesn't stick around there very long, therefore all that is left to hire is someone just out of college.
Any confirmation UVA hired Mary Jane Harrelson (Appalachian State) and 2 time NCAA 1500 Meter Champion is taking the asst. coaching position at UVA
interesting hire if it is true.
