Where is current Mich. St. Asst. going?
This will make all the distance coaches foam at the mouth

I will say this
in no way is he qualified
BUT
I have met him and he will be a great D1 coach one day. I am also sure that day will come when he is a sprints coach which won\'t be at UCF while Smith-Gilbert is there.
Who left the michigan state staff and what event did they coach???????
Leaving the profession.

LOL. I love this post. 82 pages worth of social studies/PE majors who are whining because they can't get jobs.
Let the coaches prove whether they are competent or not.
Bottom line to close out 2010 coaching updates, when one gets a job or position, driving, timing, making phone calls, or etc... that is their blessing. So when we, me included complain how we are better, more qualified it only hurts our blessings to come if that is God`s plan. College coaching is more than writing workouts and training plans.
When is Coach David Kaiser ever going to get LEVEL II (2) certified?

Yes, because the USATF coaching certification is VERY important if you want to be a top notch coach. Don't you dare coach without one!
P.S. How many certs do you think John McDonnell has? How 'bout Pat Henry? Vin? How many do you think Marty Stern had while his Villanova teams were winning year after year? Peter Tegen while producing some of the best NCAA female middle distance runners of all time? I won't even go into the technical event coaches who don't have certs. Bottom line, it's a joke and nothing more than a resume builder to have "Is a USATF Level II certified coach" on a bio.
At this point (mid September), neither the sprint or distance position has been filled at Penn.
Maybe Penn will be dropping its track and xc program?
Opening at Tennessee. Van Norman is out. Who will fill the spot.Still got SIU, Tennessee, New Mexico, any other positions still up for grab in the sprints and hurdles?

Saw that Heidelberg has their Head XC and Track position open. What happened to their coach and who is in line for this one? Anyone an inside front runner? I have applied.
