You completely miss the point. Once energy sources move to renewables, they do not come back. Russia's war has raised fossil fuel prices and pushed the EU to make a huge shift away from fossil fuels. Had Putin stayed away from Ukraine, natural gas would be very cheap right now, especially after a very mild winter in Europe, and the EU would not be anywhere close to the kind of energy transition that is taking place right now. Instead, the transition is accelerating in the EU in a way it would never had absent Putin's war. Heat pumps are being installed almost as a matter of course in new construction and when furnaces need replacement. It may just be a few years before the majority of residential heating in the EU is heat pumps which alone could completely eliminate the need for Russian natural gas. Russia's war means that the future will only see large declines in fossil fuel consumption in a way that would have never happened without Russia's war in Ukraine. This means Russia will face an existential crisis in the near future because there will be no growth in its revenues from fossil fuel exports and probably a steady decline. Russia has no other major industry that will grow at a sufficient rate to replace the lost revenue from fossil fuels.
Lets hope so! Needs to happen. I could care less about either country in this war and would love to see fossil fuels completely disappear.

Some Ethnic cleansing was committed in the Donbas by Ukraine's Nazis. This was the first real problem. But Ukraine's Nazis were not trying to kill ALL ethnic Russians in the Donbas, just as Russia is not trying to kill all non-ethnic-Russians in Ukraine.
This is not Rwanda folks. It was escalating tit-for-tat.
Russia is denazifying Ukraine while Ukraine is fighting Russia to preserve their Nazis' ability to continue to ethnic cleanse, as racist d-bags, when they please.
Is this ethnic cleansing now by Russia? No. They did not invade Ukraine (or other places) because they are not ethnic Russian. Ukraine was doing fine (Roma targets mostly) with their own Nazi problem until their Nazis started targeting ethnic Russians in the Donbas.
The problem is Ukraine is a Nazi state. It spilled over and messed with the wrong people. They went to the extreme of ethnic cleansing SOME unarmed civilians they thought were ethnic Russians / separatists. They were very reckless and stupid about how they did it. And very VERY racist.
