I was told by photographer that Kara is a Diva "look at me, look at me". Just ask the Skechers marketing team after a few photo shoots. Her and Adams were a nightmare!

Kara is a media queen, craving attention, posing for the cameras. She is all about LOOK AT ME, LISTEN TO WHAT I CAN TELL YOU, to the detriment of others.

Some people found them unlikeable before being coached by Salazar.

People who disliked Salazar from his own competitive days automatically disliked them from the moment they signed up with him.

People who were suspicious of Salazar because of the way NOP operated were so because of Adam and especially Kara (not Rupp, he wouldn't become the primary target until about 2009). They appear to have been the first thyroid patients in NOP and introduced the concept (Dr. Brown) to the program. They were seen as benefiting from all his "sleazy" use of existing rules like the way he got Adam into a USA championships on year.

The people who think that Salazar was operating in a "Gray Zone" know that Gouchers were there lapping up the benefits of all this.

And those who think Salazar was running a dope program suspect that Kara, THE medal winning star of program, wasn't clean herself. How could they not?

So, that leaves pretty much nobody who really likes/trusts them anymore.

I was thinking the same thing as you. I am amazed at the shamelessness of it all but we are talking about Nike here so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I just don't think I have ever been on here when it was so obvious that people from NOP/ NIke camp were on here trolling and trying to muddy the picture and make anyone speaking against Salazar look bad. It's like that on every post that has to do with this investigation.

All of this is just white noise though. Kara Goucher and Steve Magness have caused them to panic and they are trying so desperately to control it. Keep up the good work Ms Goucher and anyone else who is talking to USADA.

If people have been threatened at this meet, then it should have been openly reported immediately -- not mentioned and then held back for some future nefarious use.

I cannot imagine what track weenie would threaten what track weenie.

These self important runners need to get over themselves and their changing narratives and grudges against the companies and people that allowed their dreams to come true.

Frankly, the drama queens are getting tedious and boring and distracting from the competitors who have nothing to do with any of this.

Who to believe. The reality none of us know! If a small portion of the posters here would take about five minutes and learn how USADA doping investigations work you could all save yourselves a lot of time.

So much talk of the need for conclusive evidence from one witness, I would imagine that those who have talked to USADA have been asked not to discuss the specifics of their claims or charges until after the USADA has completed its' investigation.

The "Truth" when it comes out could well be like the Armstrong Reasoned decision, or not. Like the Armstrong case that was investigated for years before the corner was turned and the dominoes began to fall. It could be that Salazar has under active investigation for years and people have been afraid to talk until now.

You do realize that the reason Lance was caught was nearly every other person on the team admitted to doping, right? So your assertion that mere speculation is sufficient is incorrect. They had admissions from everyone else. For people that make this out like the Lance Armstrong case didn't really read into that case or this one. Lance was openly criticizing US and world anti-doping agencies, Salazar was emailing them and seeking guidance. Same? Sure.

As others have stated, this is really taking away from the running that people are doing (seriously one of the best 1500s and Steeples in a while) I imagine it is tiresome for everyone not involved to be asked so many Q's. Although I agree with Nick Symmonds it is their job and they should have an opinion b/c if true some people have been gaming the system, but I wonder how they will feel if we fast forward this 4-6 months later and they are still getting asked tons of questions.

Kara having time to give her side is surely warranted, but her claim that 'people have been threatened' without saying who, with what, or giving any other evidence is not only nonsense it is drama-filled. If she is exaggerating any of this, then she will get what she gets. And as others have noted, it screams of hypocrisy that she works with them for years, is ok with all the NOP climate, but now all of a sudden is above it, never did anything (like take supplements, use altitude tents, etc), and now needs to stop it. I wonder what TUEs she has/had and what supplements she takes or has taken. I would like to know. Why is she or other former members somehow excluded?

At this point I just don't care. If the NOP comes crashing down, it will be replaced by something else. Unfortunately, in the distances, we (the US) don't really have anyone who can compete with the elites of the world, many of whom are likely doping. Yes, runners like True are potentials, but we we have a long way to go to consistently be competing for podium spots.

I am glad one of the interviewers asked "Kara, how would you like to see this end?"

It seems like if someone truly believes in the allegations that they are putting forward, why not respond with "I want Alberto out of the sport. I want Rupp's medals and records removed from the books."

Your son is 4 years old. By the time he is competing age, there's going to be some new performance enhancing method or drug that we will be debating once again.

Don't pretend that this debate we are having now can result in what anyone would call a clean sport. This is an investigation of ONE coach and mostly just ONE athlete. You want them removed, so say so. Otherwise, your conviction seems a little weak.

So all these pages and no one has any inside info on who might have been threatened, by whom, and how?

Oh come on! I'm not a PR person - you just like to accuse people who don't agree with you of being PR people. In fact, I'm an ex-Big 12 track and XC runner, who used to run against one of the Gouchers on a regular basis, and remember them both well from when Colorado was in the Big 12. I especially remember Adam Goucher killing the competition at the OK State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater. Both were impressive runners in the NCAAs, and I have a lot of respect for what they have achieved then and since then. Right now, I don't think they are coming off in the best light, particularly Kara Goucher. Not everyone is going to agree with you, particularly when there is NO evidence to support her accusations of doping - just lots of innuendo so far. The testosterone gel has been explained, as has the asthma. There is simply no evidence and corroborating statements that I can see that justifies the amount of exposure this is getting. No one has ever actually seen any instances of direct doping either. So, I am able to make my own conclusions here, thanks very much. I still have an interest in distance running, though I no longer run much (is this allowed??). I have also worked in environments where people work themselves up because of personal vendettas/bad blood, and before you know it a witch hunt ensues. I can see this happening here I'm afraid. I await more evidence, and am happy to be proven wrong IF actual evidence comes to light. But you should allow people to have divergent opinions from yours, and not be accused of being PR people.
