Yes they are tired and washed up. A bunch of twerps who talk about the rich tradition JJ ruined. Such silly little guys. Hey alumni care to share your stats? I bet they couldn't hold a candle to JJ in any way. BTW I would say the NCAA meet records. championships, ncaa records and oh lets not forget your world champion in the 800 who was also a product of UT speak for themselves! Shut up and get a life you racist jerks.
What does winning the iaaf have to do with the ncaa?
You can't live on what you used to do. That's college sports in the big 5 leagues. It's lately that matters.
Man you are so stupid it makes my head hurt. Umm do the names Sharon Dickie, Liz Costello or Becki Wells ring a bell? I swore they ran a little farther then the 800. You clearly spend your time spewing lies and accusations with no basis all day. What violations has JJ had. I am sure if you knew of even one you would blast it all over the forum. Sit down you clown. Get a life.

losing meets
I find it hilarious that everyone has sooo much to say about JJ... let me ask you this... How many of you attended any meets, who donated to the indoor facility??? Oh I'll wait... And for everyone screaming he's gone and what a great idea, when was the last time you coached a collegiate team, had multiple olympians and NCAA athletes without the support of TN.. So what I say to all of you is GET A LIFE!!!!
I'm sorry to hear JJ was let go. As a former recruit, I developed a good relationship with him. No, I didn't choose to attend UT, but it wasn't because of JJ. On my official visit, I didn't like the campus, the town, and wasn't impressed by the academics - or lack thereof - at UT. Must be hard to attract top talent to the school with so many other more attractive options.
Hopefully, he will be hired by an elite academic university situated in a more appealing town. Of all the schools I visited, UT had by far the ugliest campus. Just could not imagine spending four years of my life there.

If you all check the stats JJ is one of the most successful coaches at UT right now!! I swear you people think you know everything about "TRACK" Please take a seat!!!
Based on this past outdoor SEC championship, he is clearly the worst coach at Tennessee in any sport. Football is the next worse, finishing with the 3rd worst record. Seems like a change was certainly needed for a once proud program. Hopefully JJ can focus his efforts on the pro level as he clearly wasn't cut out for the college head position at UT.

"losing meets" who uses that terminology in the track world.
people who understand winning vs losing
Why didn't this happen when I was there???
College is a team sport. The team is awful. He needed to be replaced. You can't put world champion pros in tenn gear and enter them in the conference
I wouldn't totally blame the tank that Tennessee is in currently because of the decline in their distance program but it factored in to their best success when they were a strong program.
I think that steeplechaser Famlighetti was the last bigtime distance runner I heard of running for Tennessee.
What ever happened to the 800 runner Mark Sylvester?
I don't think Tennessee was ever competitive in the SEC without big points coming from distance runners. That was one of their strengths. The had great sprinters that might have also been football players. Throws were strong. And picked up big points in the distance events.
Not saying Watts was the answer. You still have to recruit the talent. Like how Stan Huntsman started recruiting top Midwest talent and Doug Brown kept up.
JJ Clark didn't keep that Ohio/Michigan distance talent pipeline going. Maybe he tried but for some reason Tennessee stopped landing quality distance and mid-distance talent.
It all comes dowm to recruiting and Tennessee has it pretty hard now that they are so bad.
And the man in charge is the one responsible, even if he is a solid coach.
Ok your name speaks volumes!! obviously you are not a VOL and will never measure up to one so get lost and stop replying to my messages. You will never understand what it feels like to lose a coach before a prime part of the season. #Bye
lol
