Chicago Distance Classic - Course long?

Trust me, next year that's exactly what I'm going to do. The CDC usually falls close to the pace run on the Phitzinger marathon program and I choose to run the CDC and and disappointed. Never again.

I'll race my training partners on the path from now on and use the markers on the path. They may be off a little but they don't clip me for $75.

I just measured the course the measurer posted with Google Earth, following the tangents a bit more closely than he did on his map. First try, no adjustments, 13.11 miles.

i have to say, kudos to the penguin for getting on here and explaining away. and jeers to those anonymous posters who said some pretty slanderous things. nobody should have to put up with that garbage, even if he did make a mistake or few transgressions. lighten up, accept the resolution and do what you have to do in the future.

I'd say Bingham coming here was, from a PR perspective, foolish.

All he did was fan flames or resentment and help keep this thread alive.

Better if he communicated through his website and press releases, period.

In fact, he comes across as pretty much an amateur in this department and, given what happened to his race, it's an impression that can stick.

We can all just show up with our laptops next year. Think how much fun that could be. You could even take the course into Second Life and put up additional aid stations and refreshment stands. You wouldn't have to wait in line for a porta potty. Wow.

Really, I don't know why people enter this race. It's NOT WORTH IT even with accurate measurement.
