yo kartelite whats up,
dude that W&M hill may be very short but it is so steep and doing it twice, grrr. i hated it. of course i ran crappy both times i raced at W&M so maybe i hated the hill cuz i had to see it 4 times during 2 bad races. ahh, i fondly remember one of those races my coach told a teammate and myself to step off the course cuz we were doing so bad despite being like 3rd and 4th on the team in the race.
Bridgewater for the win! They'll start the team scoring with two single digits and get their 3-4-5 guys in the chute in time for the win. Look for an upset.
have you seen UT-Tyler and Emory run?
I think this is the hill, second pic down...

Hello ... is anyone there? I guess I will leave a message. Just wanted to check in to see what was happening in the south east region of D3. Haven't heard from you in a while. But, no one answered. Guess you guys don't care much about racing predictions anymore.
Anywho ... just thought you might want to know that UT-Tyler is not going to win regionals. That's right. It will be a battle up front for Rhodes, Centre and Emory, with UT-Tyler having a very bad day and finishing 4th.
Call me sometime if you want to talk more ... or listen to my great predictions ... or say something stupid, like Virginia schools are so great. Laters.
It is still not final, but CNU's head track coach will most likely comply with the course width rules. Look for repetative a 2k loop design with Retard Hill being run 4 times. Once again, This is not final.
In my opinion, the course width shouldn't really matter anywhere after about mile 2. W&M's course is fine back in the woods, even if it doesn't meet "regulations." Why just run around the field 4 times, what a waste. On the other hand, the Hendrix course was horrible in that respect, I remember literally running in the ditches trying to pass hordes of people around the 1k-2k area where it was about 6m wide at most.
there are two hills that one, which nothing and very short, and a longer drug out hill that is the one that hurts.
the one in picture is in the beginning of the race, you won't notice it

But it's run twice during the normal 8k course, and apparently with the proposed regional course it would be run 4 times.
although the teams at the top are not nearly the caliber of emory, rhodes, centre...there are still 5 VA teams ranked in the top 10..which is far more than what any other state can claim in their depth. perhaps the other states, for some reason, are better at getting more top end runners to one particular d3 school in the state..while VA's are spread out.think how good maybe one or two of these teams could be if you could combine the talent...get more of them to float toward one or two of the schools instead of spread out between 5.
reasons for the spread:
1)LC,Bridgewater, and W&L are all private schools
Mary Wash and CNU are public
this has a great impact in terms of tuition costs to the different schools. If you have a choice between LC and CNU, why would you pay another 10 grand or more to go to LC?
2)another factor...W&L academically is out of this world compared to the four other schools...it's closer to an Ivy League schools while the others are easier in academics than some high schools.
anyway...as I was sayin. LC Bridgewater WL MW and CNU...may not be the cream of the crop but you can't really argue the depth that i dont think any other single states in the SE region provides.
alright then!
It's back! All this talk about the VA schools is so tired. Not one single school from VA will be in the top 4, I plumb guarantee it.
The course width rule isn't exactly clear:
"Narrow gaps shall be not less than 2 meters and preferably 5 meters in width for nonchampionships courses and not less than 10 meters in width for championships courses."
I would read this as saying the course must be at least 2 meters wide and preferably not less than: (i) 5 meters wide for nonchampionship courses; and (ii) 10 meters wide for championship courses.
This would give CNU the option of running the real course (and would explain how Hendrix ran a narrow course).
Hopefully CNU won't trick this up and run the goofy 2k circuit.
I ran the Eastern State Hospital course 4 times in high school and I don't think that is the hill. I'm guessing that is the dip right after you start... it has more of a pitch to it than the hill near the finish, which is longer.
I might be seeing things though.
Hendrix's course was within specs of that rule. 2 meters isn't that wide, but it's wider than you think.
New map at CNU's page shows it is not the same as W&M course, as was rumored.
After pouring over results for every team in the 10 in the region, I think the region will probably look more like this for the top 5
UT-Tyler
Emory
Rhodes
Trinity
Centre
f-f-foolish, if you had any reading comprehension skills you would know that no where in my post did I say a va school would be in the top 4, I was saying quite the opposite in fact.read it again, then be an arrogant bastardd
I know what you wrote, what I wrote it wasn't in response, it was just my prediction. I was just tossing it out there.
oops! Sorry, I thought that you said what I said was "foolish" I didn't realize "f-f-f-foolish" was what someone was named on here.
