If by one you mean nine, then yes, the Pac-10 is a one-team pony. Pac-10 has depth like no other conference. There are no freebies (other than Stanford) which is why USC was challenged by teams like Arizona and Washington, while OSU and UCLA managed to finish the job and beat USC. As I recall Arkansas, Nebraska and Notre Dame weren't able to come close.

So, by your logic, Oregon State beat Hawaii at Hawaii, who narrowly lost to Boise State at Boise. So Oregon State would likely beat undefeated and #8 Boise State at this point in the season if I follow your logic. I guess, as long as we are using your highly credible ranking system, we should take a look at Georgia's 14-13 victory at home over an absolutely awful Colorado team, a team that would have beaten Georgia on that day if their rookie coach hadn't panicked and had managed the clock a little better late in the game. Remember, Georgia was favored by FOUR touchdowns. Remember also that this is the very same Georgia team that put the wood to Auburn at Auburn. Sure didn't make the SEC look very powerful at all. I watched very closely, just like I watched all of Florida's games.

Another thing I don't like about the SEC is how they refuse to go anywhere to play non-conference opponents. Here is their non-conference road schedule:

So, of their 48 non-conference games 7 are on the road. Of those that are on the road, 4 of them are in their home state (so they can still pack fans in the stadium). Weak!

Actually, Florida doesn't "loose" a lot and as I don't play on either team, and have no input as to Coach Meyer's or Coach Tressel's strategy fail to see how I could influence the outcome in any way. Beating Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl would be a huge plus for Florida, losing to TOSU won't be. I don't know if you actually watched TOSU and Florida play this year, but unless Florida cleans up its remarkable propensity to attempt to give games away (Auburn and Arkansas spring to mind) they will not beat the Buckeyes. I would be thrilled if Chris Leak played a mistake free game, the Florida special teams delivered, the defense played up to its capabilities and Coach Meyer called a game which fit his players capabilities. In that case, we would see a game where the 1 or 2 chances in 10 to win would come in to play. I just don't think that is terribly likely. As for the opinion of "the whole Florida nation", I was rooting for Florida back when Alabama would come to Florida Field (no "Swamp" in those days) and beat us 40-0. I was rooting for Florida back when any bowl bid was a big deal, and a Sugar Bowl bid was a distant fantasy. Time has made me a bit of a realist about Florida football and we do not have a sterling record of delivering in big games. Nonetheless, I will be rooting for them when they play the Buckeyes. Sorry that isn't sufficient for the "whole Florida nation".

I forgot to mention that Georgia lost to Kentucky and Vanderbilt and got blown out by Tennessee, and yet, somehow Florida barely beat them. I mean, that surely counts for something using your lucid rationale, does it not?

Yes, that is INDEED why they play the game. And the best team doesn't always win. For anyone who watched the national championship last year, it would be hard to argue that USC wouldn't have won 7 out of 10. But Texas was deservedly crowned national champ, having gone undefeated and beating Ohio St. and USC, both games basically road games.

Agreed, which is why I said in my original post that Porter and Moss would be unstoppable. At this point we are arguing over point spread as I would have no interest in this game on a money line...
