I'm curious how WiJu cuts the courses. It looks like at Chicago, he did it several times, which means he risked several chances at getting caught. Does he stop running near the curb and bend down and tie his shoe and then stand up in the crowd on the side of the road? Does he loiter around an aid station until no one notices him assimilating into the crowd (maybe by covering up his bib with his purple jacket at that point)?
Also, I'm wondering why he hasn't been caught more often with his wildly erratic splits at Chicago and other races as mentioned above. It seems like all the splits from a race (especially like Chicago with splits every 5K) could be run through a program (even something simple like an excel spreadsheet) to highlight erratic splits.
Also, it seems like marathon officials should immediately scrutinize anyone who missed a split.
Also, shouldn't marathons publicize (or at least circulate a list) whom they've caught cheating (whether cutting courses, or whatever) so those people could be scrutinized more closely when they register for other marathons?
Also, I shouldn't say also so much.
