Everybody Is Trying to make this about race and/or politics and it is about neither, it is about a fight that resulted in death due to one person having a weapon (Fights should be one on one no weapons and no legal consequences) Of Course no one wants death, Before My Boxing and Wrestling matches I always prayed that Neither of us died or got seriously hurt, If I get hurt that is on me I agreed to compete/fight and knew the possible consequences, by the way when Boxers fight and their opponent dies The Boxer is not the same and is usually destroyed himself in different ways. The Rule is Thou Shalt not Kill.
Or you can be offended by neither and stop being offended by everything. You'll be happier.
I'm not offended by either, which is the funny part. I'm not the one posting "Hey morons, get mad at this!" takes from Matt Walsh and Chaya Raichik into this thread, pissing my pants in rage.
And as already explained, I wasn't offended by someone using the term "blacks", I was commenting that the types of low-end mouthbreathers who indiscriminately throw it around in the context it was used in here, well, you know you're really going to get some prime, well-thought out, nuanced opinion. For sure.
You said you were offended by both at the same time. However, you still seem to be more upset at the use of the term "blacks" by people you assume to be "whites" ( see i used it for white people too.....feel better?) than you do about the racist yelling "death to crackers". Interesting you make excuses for his behavior as that of a mentally ill person. He is not mentally ill, he is simply a racist. Instead of calling us mouthbreathers, maybe youd like to take a good hard look at the people you support.
Hope you arent too angry when your boy Karmelo goes to prison for life. Please try to accept the result without rioting if that happens.
But you chose to speak out on a perfectly normal, grammatically correct term. And you don't speak out on blacks (sorry, African american?, is that what you prefer?) literally threatening to murder innocent white people at the trial of a black person who murdered an innocent white person. And the fact that anyone is OFFENDED by the use of the term blacks shows what a bunch of oversensarive softies many in our society are.
I didn't say I was offended, for what it's worth. I said that the use of it, in the connotation you used it in, is a pretty clear marker of what you're dealing with. A classic right-wing circle-jerk participant, itching on bated breath to make all of the dumb, bad-faith assumptions and generalizations possible.
Nailed it. They think they're slick but then they pretend to be as dense as can be. No intelligent human is falling for this

Dude stabbed a guy in the chest and was surprised when he died. Was the thrower being a bully? Probably. Was it appropriate to stab him in the chest? Probably not. I think this case does not pass the proportional force criteria under Texas law. He was also in violation of the School district / stadium policy regarding knives at that particular stadium. He used a deadly weapon he wasn’t supposed to possess in an incident where there was likely not a reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm. The defense will have a difficult time trying to get a not guilty verdict.
More than a year after the fatal stabbing of student-athlete Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet, the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony has began. Follow our live blog for updates from the courtroom.
karmello is Soft AF, that's why he had a knife. Why? Good school, I'm sure the threats were non-existent. Seems like he got Butthurt and had a temper tantrum, you can probably put some of the blame on his parents. GUILTY. Texas. Soft on crime doesn't apply, Texas isn't one of those Weird states out west or the northeast, crime syndicate (D) stronghold and people/businesses are Fleeing! LIFE in prison. No special treatment. GenPOP.
If there was a black juror, she would hear all this testimony from eyewitnesses, but vote not guilty because Anthony is black?
Am I missing something?
Why else would it matter whether blacks are on the jury other than to create a hung trial?
This. A potential juror even admitted the quiet part out loud...that he wouldnt be able to convict another black regardless of the evidence against him. Thats why dems are wanting as many blacks as possible on the jury, because it would enable Karmelo to get off with no punishment, despite the massive amount of evidence against him. What matters is not the jurors, but the evidence prevented. Not looking good for the dem hero Karmelo

When you were boxing or wrestling would they ever match you up with a guy that weighed nearly 100 pounds more than you?
When you were boxing or wrestling would they ever match you up with a guy that weighed nearly 100 pounds more than you?
Did the guy weighed 100 pounds less take a knife into a place where he was not welcome and provoke a fight, in which the only violence done was by him when he killed the heavier guy?
To address the OP's question... 589 potential jurists were screened by questionnaire prior to voir dire. The 40 who made it past the initial round to voir dire included 3 blacks. The population of Collin County is 10.8% black so statistically there should have 4 blacks going into voir dire. Since 40 is a small sample, you'd expect 2-6 blacks to be in the voir dire pool, so three fits into the statistical probability.
All three were educators. They were eliminated for that reason. There are no educators in the final jury pool of 18. Occupation is considered to be a valid reason for elimination from a jury pool, according to law. I'm not taking sides here. I'm giving the reasons cited.
Okay, so much for background data.
This looks like a slam dunk for the prosecution. There were multiple witnesses. A deadly weapon was used. ALL the witnesses are either friends or teammates of the victim. Since KA won't take the stand, there's no way to get his side of the story in front of the jury. (I'm not saying he has a side to present either. As I said, it looks like a slam dunk for the prosecution to me.)
The only issue up for debate is the level of the murder charge and that depends on what the jury thinks was the intent of the defendant. Under TX law, murder requires intent to kill or... not sure of the legal wording here... something like, do serious bodily harm. The next level down in Texas law is manslaughter. Manslaughter doesn't require intent. It requires a reckless action by the defendant. Murder is 5-99 years. Manslaughter is 2-20. Plus, there is a difference in eligibility for parole.
Maybe someone with legal background can expand on this. To me, intent is a very high bar to reach. I guess we'll know in a few weeks what a jury thinks.
