You are all those things I described, particularly disingenuous. (That whole thing London and the other marathon being the "same" revealed that clearly enough. Your attempt to wiggle out of it is completely disingenuous.)
Given the example of you and Mr. Green no wonder people have such a poor impression of the intelligence level of Americans. Had I just wanted to "win" on that London thread, I would have, in typical Letsrun style, just made fun of the fact that marunner didn't know who Steve Jones was. That was all I needed to do.
Instead I try to answer him in a mature manner, with information (despite what you might think, the continuity of the trophy is important, when they moved the Derby from Epsom to Newmarket during the war, they were still Derby winners, the history travelled with the trophy. Likewise, when they moved Royal Ascot to York two years ago to refurbish Ascot racecourse, the history of the Gold Cup
and all the other big races travelled to York. The history of the trophy is inescapable.)
I then pointed out that taking the word of a man who tried -and failed, miserably(unless you consider losing a massively expensive lawsuit a success)- to keep his club's biggest race going might not be the wisest idea, but apparently nobody ever writes anything on the internet which isn't 100% true (bit of a conundrum for you and your accusations towards me there.)
Anyway, thanks for offering up further evidence of the average Letsrunner's inability to think critically, but I think Mr. Green has you beat hands down.
