I don't follow any of the accounts in this thread, but a few have been popping up on my feed because I searched for info on the new Pegasus 42. The reviews are hilarious! That Fordyruns guy and Ben P. just savage the shoe, making it seem like your feet will fall off if you try and run in it. According to them you can't take it above 60 minutes or you will feel it all week. It's only a "lifestyle" shoe now for people who want to run a couple 5ks a week.
I've been wearing Pegasus off and on for 25 years. They're just versatile running shoes. They're fine, they work well for an everyday shoe. Do they propel you forward or have a huge stack height? No, but not every runner wants a rocker or to run in moon boots. I even picked up a new pair of the 42 and they fit well, are cushioned, and will probably last 500+ miles like every other Pegasus I've had. What is wrong with these tools where they have to be so hyperbolic?
