Honestly, they can both get in the bin. More care about the money than the sport. Hypocrites. Weird how Briggs is also coaching McCarthys ex..?

Also hilarious seeing Briggs re share her video of McCarthy at London last year. “This is your day”. Few moments later McCarthy burst into tears because she flopped and was asking London for an explanation. Bore off
No runs or videos from MattRuns18 (juicy bus driver) since April 9th - injured bigly? RIP

Just seen a great clip from the Spencer Matthews podcast, don't know who the guy is but he calls out the Russ Cook / Hugo Frys of the world as rubbish pros rather than top level amateurs and I couldn't agree more.
All these guys are full time runners and are likely paid more than most pros meaning they have the best support networks possible to be a runner and yet they still at best are hanging on to the very back of the pro field , most of them barely stand out from your average club hobby jogger
That clip was so good. He’s right in fairness they are spoilt lifestyle wise for running. Fry is new to it in fairness I think he will improve more, but none of these people can be “relatable”, to be able to go full time within a couple of months of starting is a serious privilege and not one afforded to “amateurs”.
Even when you look at the performances of the likes of Adam Wood not hitting OTC yet after a few goes and years as a full time runner and people hit it from the masses in Boston. Training at that level while working full time +/- family etc is serous going.

Legit shocked he still has fans and support after the whole Japan fiasco. who liked this guy previously even lol? I’ll admit the sweat elite YouTube content of pro training was cool, but Matt himself has always had a crap personality and has horrible views and is a crap person. are people just unaware of this lol? There are pretty damning past letsrun threads with evidence of him being straight up antisemitic and having SA allegations. Not to mention the guy severs ties with everyone he befriends or works with in the running space. He basically exiled himself from Chicago and burned bridges with an entire sub elite team all because of his own lunacy
At the least, he clearly has a mental disorder. I remember listening to one ep of his podcast a year ago randomly and the dude legit sounded like a lunatic in how he was caring for his dog (hint: horribly) and praising trump. I truly don’t know who listens to that man’s podcast for enjoyment of likes him as a human being. He seems deranged and a genuine jerk. Am I wrong here lmao
The guy said on a recent podcast he admires and would love to meet Kayne west and thinks he’s perfectly sane😂 says a lot.
The agencies scouting these influencers for product advertisement really need to reconsider their careers. And for Apple, who’s signing these off, you have Mary/Becky harping on about their Garmin and will only use the Apple for the marathon for their few grand pay check and then leave on their bedroom shelf after. Consumers are less and less trusting influencers and things like this isn’t helping
The Athlete special has zero dog in him. Whines about doing a 4 mile double (at >8min pace) while laying in bed presumably taking a nap? My brother you have no job lol.
Dude is not cut out for the marathon but it's funny to see him try.
Reminder that the GOAT OG shoetuber is back and better than ever (despite multiple proclaimed retirements ala Jordan). He’s running up 14ers in the snow for no reason. Trashing brands (cough soar) for sending him whack, overpriced gear. And being refreshingly honest about his own limitations and failures in recent fkt attempts. Also looking snazzy with the hair, stash, and overall fit. And tastefully leaving the fam (take notes bloberg!) out of it. It’s all kept in shoedio.

I can confirm he does not have that dog in him
Naturally Moaning Mo (new name going forward and one we should follow closely) was with Mary and Briggs yesterday at the Apple event. At this stage it’s just a cult of who can unethically and immorally bring in the most cash whilst misleading their audience
Hi Fordy!

all of a sudden he's trying to be inspirational with the "man v. marathon" series because running local 5ks in Mario costumes gets decidedly less funny when you're quickly approaching 30.
does a whole lot of nothing: naps in the middle of the day even though he's running far less mileage than scores of decent amateurs with actual responsibilities, allows Allie to cook all of his meals for him, does no cross-training to supplement the mileage limitations due to his achilles, does no strength work for his achilles issues either (just some ego-fueled chin-ups in the spare bedroom), and puts out one 10 min low effort Youtube video per week which he calls "work."

one of my favourite runfluencer videos of all time was mccarthys tactical dive in front of the runna lot last year. pure cinema, pure drama
A day where new balance sponsored her to run and she had vip access after. Couldn’t have gone any worse for her. Pure comedy and will always be remembered alongside Josh Jogs muling his bib whilst Boring Briggs and Tommy Sleez supported him. Fuggers

The forecast for Sunday’s London Marathon reads less like a weather report and more like a warning etched in fire. The sun, it seems, has decided to descend personally upon the city again, turning every mile into a blazing gauntlet. The Pavement will shimmer like molten glass, lungs will scorch with every breath, and runners won’t so much cross the finish line as stagger through a furnace disguised as a race. Hydration plans will feel like desperate negotiations with a merciless sky that refuses to blink.
And of course, looming behind this absurd, punishing heat is the unmistakable fingerprint of man-made global warming, cranking the thermostat higher with every passing year.
thanks chatgpt
Not even that hot or sunny in London on Sunday according to latest forecast. Maybe a little warm if you're still slogging out there at 1pm, but most of the faster runners have got pretty decent conditions by the looks.

Nah, I'm on the ground here in Greenwich right now, and it's hot as balls. Sun has been out all week, with very little cloud cover. It's not going to be a shady course.
It'll be a wipeout like last year unfortunately.

I'm similar age, build etc to Goddard and just blew up on the weekend going for sub3 finishing in 3:07. Apart from I have a 1:24 half and did a workout with more than 18km at marathon pace. Think if he goes out at sub3 pace he'll be lucky to do 3:45.
He doesn't even enjoy running, he is only doing it for the gram.
All he cares is to feed his pod and socials with as much content as possible, he chose "sub 3" as a target cause it sounds nicer and it can use it for a more clickbait title to whatever he is posting.
If he really dares to hang on to sub 3 pace, he will bonk so hard and probably give up running for a while or just plod around social runs, where they can enjoy a well deserved overpriced coffee at the end.

Incredibly refreshing knowing Mary McCarthy isn’t running London this year. The carry on from her disaster last year was too much. Additionally, Becky Briggs is yet again only running for the vibes. She’s clearly talented but has she just given up these days and wants to be a dumbfluencer rather than a real competitor? I do wonder if she’s just lost her bottle and doesn’t want to push herself anymore. Fair enough but disappointing. Her messaging is so mixed so never know what you’ll get.
She’d run it if her ego could take a bad result. It’s certainly not being sensible returning from injury is stopping her more the lack of fitness

It’s a pity he will be able to blame the weather cause he wasn’t running it either way.
