Sagarin: I find it a little hard to believe that anyone would have released the GPA of the so called "quota" student who got the clerkship your wife was hoping for. Did she know him/her personally or something?

Fair perhaps, but rather pointless. Obama's got the job and will retain it or not in 2012 based on how he's perceived to be performing in that role, not on his college years. Which is why, like her or not, one has to question Palin's judgement in quitting as Governor when she really needs that on her resume if she's to pursue higher office.

Frankly, she's getting rich, capitalizing of her 15 minutes of fame, so the joke's on everyone else who is feeding the pipeline. What's she got to lose? I can't see the GOP nominating her in 2012 after the first fiasco, but, if unemployment stays elevated like I believe it will and Obama continues to ram through policies and make decisions to cater to the far-left, decisions which most polls show the majority of Americans oppose, then that "so easy even a caveman can do it" humanoid I referred to earlier could be an effective nominee.

Ok, firstly, I don't have any interest in this thread. I really don't. Just backing up Gamecock's worthwhile points about properly vetting candidates and remaining objective. I do not like Palin, and I don't see why people keep saying she's "attractive."

Do your own digging. Any number of polls show the same thing. I believe Zogby showed the POTUS approval rating under 50% for the first time, and Rasmussen, who is pretty dang accurate, shows majority disapproval for the recent decision to try Khalid Sehik Mohammed and his cronies in New York City courts, subsidized by the American taxpayer of course, with the full rights of the constitution bestowed upon these denizens who were enemy combatants captured in PAKISTAN, all for show and propagandizing.

And this byzantine health care bill loses support when language about the public option or a "trigger," that will prove the Trojan Horse, is inserted into the bill, though it's still nebulous and unclear whether such a thing actually exists yet or not. Better to pass an awful, 2000+ page bill that no one has properly vetted, besides perhaps the CBO, whose estimates are notoriously inaccurate, than no bill at all, eh? Let's not forget that medicare was 9x over "budget in 1990 and is now 35x over budget and climbing. Where do we get the money?

I posted these last week by the way. Lots of nuancing in these polls, but the first one is telling. But I don't care where you go... go to Gallup or Zogby or a non-partisan newspaper tracking poll, if you can find one. Eliminate the NYT and IBD though.

You better learn a little more about Sarah Palin before you begin singing her praises. Even Republican's are split on the idea of whether she is qualified to be a president of this nation. She is not the tax cut God you think she is, and she really did not accomplish as much as you think she did as governor of Alaska. By the way, she is nothing like you or I, she is an opportunistic multi-millionaire now! That is the one thing I actually do appreciate about her...

Here's the thing, as much as people are on the fence about Obama's agenda (most polls reading in the mid-high 40's on stuff), they read even more negative about Congressional Republican performance. Conservatives want to paint it that momentum is swinging but in reality, support just seems to be evaporating for both sides.

And, as I've been saying forever and a day, we are no longer the "Republic for which it stands..."

Palin < Obama, but Obama, the ANSWER to Bush, is merely the other side of the SAME coin.

Graduating college (any of them) doesn't make you intelligent. I'm an engineer and proud of my degree, but I've worked with other engineers (also with degrees) who couldn't design their way out of a paper bag.

Of course it doesn't make you intelligent, but surely as an engineer you recognize that there's a strong relationship between graduating college and intelligence.

I think of her like George Bush. I'd like to have her as a buddy, a sibling, have a beer with her. Not evil like many make them out to be. But a horrible president. Some seem to make it about values or class but i can't imagine her doing a good job, and that's what it is, a very important job.
