So just curious, does anyone really know what's going on with this position? ... Leaving these kids in limbo for this long is unfair and unprofessional...

rita turned them down, she is out of the running for sure. She wants the Miami OH job
ya, the program is screwed. I feel really bad for the kids there. The program directors really do seem like a bunch of idoits.
Montana state is a much better an program. hands down.
as far as football goes, UofM is a great school to play at.
Once again, good luck to the runners on the team. Its nothing new, I've been following that program for years and still can't believe it isn't a top collegiate program. Its just not a priority for the school to have a good track team. Wish they would tell tell the kids that before they go! Its a wonderful place to train none the less
So Rita is out of the question, anyone know which of the remaining three finalists they'll offer the job to next?...
At this point, how could any of them accept the position? They all come from existing programs who should be starting practice soon. They'd have to bail on their current team, leaving them in the same situation as UM. This got dragged on way too long.
I was a bit disappointed when my coach decided to apply for this position but I understand why he did. I agree it would suck for any of the three finalists programs if they got offered the job and accepted.
With that said, does anyone know the NCAA rules on whether kids can follow there coach if he takes a new position or if they are eligible to transfer?...
Unless your school grants you a release, you would have to sit out the year (assuming you hadn't already transfered once already).
I heard that at least another of the applicants has been offered and already turned the job down.

Most athletic departments will grant you a release when your coach leaves. That is a compelling reason to leave. The only problem you would have is if it is in the same conference, then you would have to sit a year.
Your biggest problem would be getting into the other school so late in the game.
THEY OFFERED IT TO SOMEONE AND THEY ACCEPTED IT.
accepted the position??
Is there any way to confirm that Rita turned down the Montana job so she could take the Miami job??? I was told that interviews for the Miami job continue through next week as more candidates are scheduled.

I heard Rita turned down the athletic directors cock.
The athletic director is a women you loser.
If you are in the loop enough to know that someone accepted the position, why would you not AT LEAST give us the name of the person??!? It is pathetic enough that we have to come here for this information, but then to have you tease us like that... C'mon now..
sorry but this guy is a liar. no one's accepted anything yet.
Alberto Salazar has accepted the position
