You need to grab that TinaJ girl off of DyeStat. That chick is awesome.

I think you would do more justice to the sport of track and field if the website were redesigned using the look of the NCAA website. All professional sports have a really nice website design where the front page has the latest news but also pull down menus to select things like teams, schedules, stats, records, results. In the case or letsrun.com you could have menus for track events, field events, road racing, marathons and cross country. I think this type of organization and a more professional look would help promote the sport and bring fans to the website for the latest news, information and results. The message board is great, but if you divide that into topics i think it would be easier to browse.
I'm gonna disagree, --assuming I understand what you mean right-- I like how all the Important information is displayed, its a good design. While the site could use some "touching up" having separate menus would not only take longer to update, but it would scatter the information...

I did not check this thread and now their are two many posts too read them all so I think it is easier to just shut the site down :)
(It pains me to "right" like that on purpose even though I do it by accident all the time)
So far so good on the suggestions and keep them coming. The emails received have been good as well.
Wejo made a funny...more!more!
TinaJ is NOT cool. She is one of the moderators that banned 430miler without a cause.
OK, no frills, sure. How about this. Option 1: I code this site as object oriented PHP5, so it still uses the ain't broken crappy html, but uses 1/100th the code. Option 2: Code the site as a CMS or blog template and install a CMS. Again, the HTML is the same except it is stored in a database and generated dynamically.
Either of these options would produce a far superior website. That's what I would do, at least.
Message board gets a better search function with find posts by registered names feature.
Front page could be a little less busy looking but I often enjoy stuff found during my poking around it.
Mix of posts running and non is fine.
kudos for giving us LetsRun.
LetsRunLogoed Tees in your registered name would sell if you need an additional small revenue stream.

We'd like to see plans for a LetsRun road race!
A Hot Babes page with pictures complied from groupies. I'm sure people would love this feature. You might also have a Hot Hunks page for Texans and U.S. Navy sailor types.
A reliable search feature.
I want to see a thumbs up or thumbs down to comments like on Yahoo Answers or Digg.com
Different queries to sort through threads. Maybe by poster, most replys, alpha numeric...something along those lines shouldnt be too difficult but would make a huge difference in the ability to navigate the board.
Weldon, this is what I want to seen on LetsRun:

Excellent. We don't need flashy stuff, but more original content like this. Thanks.
That t-shirt idea is novel.
To complete my personal wardrobe a Bass Pro style hat with some type of wittism would cover my balding head just fine. i.e." Letsrun.com ,We Troll with the Best"
Where do you people come up with this stuff? Brilliant!
I haven't read the other posts, but much as I love the site, I always disliked the format of your homepage -looks like a pigs breakfast.
Yes, there's lots of instant content, and maybe the idea is to create an impression of anarchic chaos, but I think most people are really only interested in news 'sectors' eg. most older runners don't care about the minutae of current high schoolers, no youngsters care about Masters. You get the idea...
Of course the big debate is Message Board...to split or not to split. I don't think it would be too hard to have just two catagories 'Running and 'Non Running' subjects. Any more splitting would create definition problems. Some people, I'm sure, really do not want to see the non-running posts which clutter that all-important index page 1, past which I rarely go.
Wejo/Rojo, you do a great job. Keep it up.
Not sure if this has been suggested already.
But I would love to read more articles or essays. I'm not sure what to call them. But more material on training techniques, racing strategy, nutrition. Possbly written by high level coaches, athletes etc.
John Kellogg used to write a lot of things like this. And I felt like I really took a lot away from them. Any insight into what the people at the top of our sport are doing to become better runners would be great. And by not having it go onto the Message Board. It could just be read for what it is.
Thanks
I stumbled upon some old stuff from the site that looked cool, like the road trip contest and Survivor Flagstaff:
