First of all, I'm a huge Brian Butzler fan and to say that he sucks is ludacris. The guy took second last year in the mile and third in the 1500 at nationals and was clearly the only guy that had a shot at Leer indoor. That being said, I would agree that he is much more of a track runner than a cross country runner, but don't count him out. I think that realistically, he'll be an AA, top 10-15, but if it comes down to a tactical race, I don't know of too many guys that finish stronger.
"ludicrous"
Thank you. I wasn't sure on the exact spelling, but I was just too lazy to look it up.

Tommy Fyffe is my choice for top contender out of the south. Won't contend at Nationals this year, but he is only a sophomore and looks to be a stud down the line.
By the way, check out d3running.com. It is starting slow but seems to be adding more and more content each week. Has a lot of potential to be a pretty dope site. Plus, they have message boards there so we don't have to search through the hundreds of threads here.
Haha If his name was Nick Symmonds I woulda put my foot in my mouth. But I doubt that guy is prowling D3 XC threads unless he is reading about former teammates. Plus I am sure that guy would have some respect for an up and coming D3 star like Butzler.
Daryl Quigsby

of note:
3 1 Tyler Sigl SR UW-Platteville 25:42 5:11
4 1 Paul Zdroik SR UW La Crosse 25:43 5:11
5 1 Ryan Place SO Allegheny 25:45 5:11
8 1 Brian Butzler SR UW Whitewater 25:53 5:13
9 1 Dom Meyer JR UW Stevens Point 25:54 5:13
P.S. place isn't a sophomore, that's wrong.
its interesting to note that St. Olaf will host the Central region champs as well...and on their schedule they have a "Pre-Regions" meet in October. I wonder if it will, in fact, shape into much more of a Pre-national meet than the meet today.

he's probably in peak shape and will start down the slippery slope mid season as everyone else starts to get strong.

I second this. 25:25 on a very tough course in early September.

who is Daryl Quigsby?
Yeah, you're probably right. Just like he peaked in track with his 5k time and his steeple time and finished just 4th and 2nd in those events outdoors. Truly pathetic. I'm sorry, who were you again?
Im not sure if some of those guys ran all out or not, because i see sigl being farther ahead of the rest of the wiac. Plus one kenyan broke away and as you can see another just pulled away from sigl at the end.
first race, theres always gonna be some rust, let them get used to racing at a fast pace...and its not like that course is that fast.
