You're assuming that what's going on now in Eugene at UO is a great thing for American distance running but really it isn't.

just use simple logic there and refute the fact that if, by your reasoning, i was comparing rupp to hall, i was not comparing him to a high school girl. please just use logic to explain how this could be.
(i'll give you the solution, but i know you are too dumb to accept it--i was not comparing the two. i was describing all the idiots who come to the boards just to rip on everyone due to their raging jealousy and inadequacies. yourself apparently included!)
The point was that your contention does not apply in this case. It's a weak, petty argument.
"Everything you're saying GO for is a direct result of Salazar and his influence at Nike and connection to Rupp. You can't be happy about Vin and OTC and not be happy about Salazar since they go hand in hand. Vin and OTC wouldn't be here without Salazar. "
Rupp, and Smiths ouster aside, Salazar is not that involved at UofO, certainly not OTC.
You give AlSal way too much credit.
Do you detractors even know what an underwater treadmill looks like? You people act as if things like that have revolutionized training. They haven't. They are not that big of a deal. Furthermore, we have one at Mississippi State, so I'm sure that all of the bigger track schools have one. They are not rare. They are nice tools, but you people act like it's impossible to compete these days without one. Do you think Geb or Bekele is doing 40% of their mileage on an underwater treadmill? No, because running is still much better.

I know some of the OTC guys think so.
I'm a Duck, and wish the very best for al OR runners, even (especially) Rupp, but Salazar combined with whats happened at OR since Smith's ouster comnpletely stinks.
Clearly Vin's the yes man.
Go Ducks, go OTC!
I am sure most of the former Duck greats, excluding Salazar, probably think Rupp's "scholarship" is a violation of what it means to be a Duck. Would Pre be spinning in his grave right now.
Maybe the Rupp "accomodation" was what led to Martin Smith's departure - that he wasn't willing to compromise just for one athlete.
Any local knowledge on this????

If Martin Smith were still at Oregon, Pre could very likely have gone to run for a program like CU under Wetmore, or tried going the Galen Rupp route until Smith was forced out. I doubt he'd have settled for partial scholarship, or being part of a mediocre XC team and lower his chances of "being made best in the world" (as he said Bowerman promised), to fund another sprinter for the sake of Track. Actually I have no right to speak for a dead person, but then neither do you have the right to assert that "he would be spinning in his grave right now."
Does anyone know what Rupp is saying into the camera at the end of the new Flocast interview just put up today?
"shout out to HQ"
he does have a little wigger in him!
