Stress fracture prediction looking correct. Mad scientist Seth is the cause. Pikes peak is not happening for Seth.. this actually might be when he transitions into coaching.

doctor tells him to stay off of his legs but he is waddling around with crutches getting some b roll shots. Also he is getting more illegal drone shots
Looks like he overtrained himself (not for the first time) into another serious injury all for the sake of content. Putting the usual spin on it.... onwards and upwards,so exciting to have a diagnosis...on crutches for the camera, hilarious to think of him setting up the shots then having to go back get the crutches just to walk past the camera.
Lol at when TL asked him if the doctor thought it' s connected to the PHT and he said no. That wasn' t very convincing, Seth.

"so is that a good thing that it's a bone and not a muscle or a tendon, or is that worse for us?"
TL, go read a book. literally anything. wtf
I mentioned very early in this thread that after trying to run through PHT I was forced to wear SI belt because of SI Joint pain. Seth too filled with pride and the "doctor" that treated his PHT can't admit the obvious. Running through the early stages of PHT and heavy lifting as "therapy" while running up mountains chasing FKT's put all this extra stress on the tendons, muscles connecting to the SI Joint. The hammy no longer able to carry the full load. Seth doesn't like living in reality, it;s all sunshine and rainbows where Seth is always right and constructive criticism like on this thread is "hate". Pride goeth before a fall.
Now that you're forced down Seth, take care and get well and learn to accept help wherever you find it. There were many on this thread trying to warn you. Your "doctor" will not admit now the connection for obvious reasons. Look into an SI Belt Seth. It helps cinch up the SI Joint and take pressure off even for daily living.
12 weeks off of running if you want to return to running safely ! Any less and you risk a flare up and sacral stress frx are serious if you try to run thru them.
The doc thinks its a sacrum stress fracture and sent me off in crutches. Cue the jump squats in the gym montage. Gotta beat the weakness!
Seth is a complete nut case!!! He has no one to blame but himself for his injuries. Now he is going to be out for like a month or so, and forget about doing Pikes Peak. That is over too. What an idiot!!!!

We get to ser him film he and his family pretending to care about hockey, why not track.
Well because with hockey, all he has to do is film his family watching the end of the stanley cup and going to the parade. And then he can do callbacks for days. "...and the ava-lanche winning the stanley CUP! Oh my my!" while he overlays the same 10 seconds of footage every time he brings it up. He never has to even know a single hockey player's name, and he gets a ton of goodwill for being a fan.
Contrast that with track analysis, where he'd:
1) have to actually pay attention to the events
2) develop coherent, useful thoughts
3) Film himself talking coherently about them
Like, it's pretty easy for me to see how Seth operates. All his blog content is stuff that he can film in one go with no prep work. He just grabs a shoe and starts rambling. IMO his approach to work is that if people cannot see you doing it, it's not worth your time. And tbf if you're focused on creating content every day with no exceptions, you don't have the time or energy for deep dives...it's natural to gravitate to the type of fluff seth pumps out.
So now that Seth will be out for a few months, what low quality videos is he going to spew out to keep the daily streak going? His videos were already declining in quality while he was able to run. There was an even sharper drop in quality this past week. In his video comparing the Saucony Kinvara line, he was spouting off nonsense and things that simply were not true. With months ahead of no running and seemingly no way to review shoes, how much further will the quality of his videos drop? Will this be the death of the viability of the channel as his job?

That was cringeworthy, for sure. I wonder if he truly believes there is no connection? He’s either deluded, stupid or lying to save face on YouTube with the DGR family. Or, he never -actually saw a doctor and self-diagnosed the PHT. Sfx’s happen over time with warning signals…
“Weak muscles in the hips and core pass more of the impact of running along to bones, potentially overloading them. That same lack of strength or faulty firing patterns in your hips and glutes allows your pelvis to shift or drop when you’re running; your sacrum can eventually crack under the shear stress this wobbling creates, Dr. Vincent says.” (Runnerworld)
It’s become obvious you can’t believe a word he says. He shows very little respect for his audience in my opinion. His ego is getting in the way.
Here's how things are likely going to go down:
1. SJD gets the bad news from the MRI - sacral stress fracture/stress reaction. 6-10 weeks NO RUNNING, VERY GRADUAL build back to normal training volumes.
2. SJD panics as site views plummet after two weeks of no solid running content.
3. Feeling "better" because of the thoughts and prayers of the DGR community, SJD gambles that a few short runs on soft trails (filmed and followed by the drone. of course), he suffers a setback and is back to square one.
4. Everything implodes. SJD starts hitting up the DGR stans for donations to pay bills and is forced to get a 9-5 to support his family.
5. SJD shuts down the channel after a week's worth of teases and a very tearful farewell address.
What a horrible video, I've never seen someone so poorly try to feign toughness when facing an injury. "I'm not sad, it's unfortunate, but I'm not sad." Dude just be real. Running is your career and passion, you are devastated. Say that you are kicking yourself for not listening to your body more.
Nope, just Seth being like "Let's get through this."
Absolutely ZERO self reflection about what got him injured in the first place. He fails to learn from his mistakes, as always. How can anyone look up to this guy? The fakeness is just oozing out of him and his silly necklace (what is that thing anyway?)
Keep in mind, he had to hobble to the car to set up the camera shot, hobble to the master bedroom, hobble to the living room...to film himself hobbling to the car, the bedroom, and the living room.
Plus, did you notice how he hobbled over to the bedroom door to lock it? Probably the previous take was ruined by one of his boys barging in to ask mom for something.
SO REAL!

Yeah, what was up with that door locking/shutting? Felt really out of place. His inability to modify his routines and habits all the time really makes me think he has undiagnosed OCD, and relocking a door like that really seems compulsive.

Seth's comeback from injury and his drive for an OTQ will be great content.

Cynically I believe you're right. He would have no trouble whipping his followers into a frenzy. And he builds his mileage so slowly, then tapers so gradually, that it would take months before it became clear he had no chance at an OTQ. And at that point, the stans are re-engaged and "inspired"

Mid-November at the earliest. He'll mess it up again inside of ten days, though, and we're looking at either 2023, or game over.
