This is the truth. It's Hansons way or the highway.
There is a big clusterfook brewing in Michigan. A young Prima Donna with lyme disease, a hard nosed I get what I want or else superstar, a couple of old meanies, add Hasty and Bizzary, and a whole gaggle of also ran guys, and 2 coaches who run a dictatorship and don't like input or to answer questions from athletes. Na.... I am sure nothing bad will happen.
You can almost feel the drama building. We need to to get Sage back to turn this into a reality TV show so we can watch it explode.

Wow! A lot is going on in Mammoth Lakes. Well, here's some things to ponder. Who's left in town there? Deena (40 on Valentine's Day '13) & Jen R (39 in '13 & Coach's wife) are there, but Mother Time is catching up; neither competed in the Trials. Meb (37) is there with his family ... for how long? S Bauhs is still there without a sponsor & a couple of others.
Ucency? When asked where she lived in a recent video she said she lived in University Heights (San Diego). Stlll part of MTC???
Departures of Cragg, Hastings & Bizzarri (for whatever reasons) leave the Mammoth cupboard pretty empty in terms of prime, quality runners. Ryan & Sara Hall left the year before; Dobson long before that.
Add to that the problems of the Town of Mammoth Lakes. About 70% of their revenue comes from the tax charged on hotel rooms; no snow (like last year) = big drop in revenue. The number of workers employed by the Town is now down to 80, from 130 in the past 2 years.
What does this have to do with MTC? Housing subsidy for MTC runners, for one.
Well, the Town Council lost a court case some years back & was socked with a $32 million judgment. They appealed & have snce paid zero. Years later they ran out of appeals & are "negotiating" to NOW PAY the new accumulated total of $43 million (includes accrued interest & attorney fees!).
The poor town is going broke because it's not snowing and now they are finally forced to pay their creditor.
So where does the housing subsidy stand that the Town gives to the MTC runners?
How high on the Town Of Mammoth Lakes Priority List do you think subsidizing runners is?
Ask the 50 former employees & their families who lost their jobs. How long will subsidy last?
What is the impact on MTC if the subsidy goes away? Any guesses?
That was one of the selling points of going to Mammoth Lakes. I look down the list of top USA distance runners and, frankly, don't see altitude as a factor in the training regimens of many. The two Colorado Steeplers may be the exception in an event that is arguably the weakest in the USA.
P. S. The Town of Mammoth Lakes, California filed for bankruptcy last month!
