Please justify holding hostage $13 billion of UE benefits VS $700 billion tax break for wealthy

We borrowed money for the "stimulus" plan, which failed to stimulate job creation as promised by Obama.

We borrowed money to pay for YEARS of unemployment benefits, when a job would have made the unemployment benefit expense unnecessary and created tax revenue from the employed worker.

Obama has borrowed money at a rate MUCH greater than the rate Bush borrowed.

Under Bush, the National Debt

Increased by $1.9 trillion during his first term (average of $39.5 billion per month)

Increased by $3 trillion during his second term (average of $62.5 billion per month)

Under Obama, the National Debt

Increased by $3 trillion in 21 months (average of $142.9 billion per month).

You seem to know the Democrat talking points but not to know the facts.

And you need to face the facts that demonstrate your democratic talking points are shallow and invalid:

Under Bush’s policies, we had:

35 months of an unemployment rate of 4.9% or lower

47 months of an unemployment rate between 5.0% and 5.9%

12 months of an unemployment rate between 6.0% and 6.9%

2 months of an unemployment rate between 7.0% and 7.9%

No months of an unemployment rate above 7.6%

Clearly, there were jobs since the unemployment rate was low under Bush.

Under Obama's policies, we got:

No months of an unemployment rate of 7.9% or lower

3 months of an unemployment rate between 8.0% and 8.9%

16 months of an unemployment rate between 9.0% and 9.9%

3 months of an unemployment rate above 10.0%

Obama said his "stimulus" bill would cause the unemployment rate to peak at 8%. The unemployment rate has been above 9% for the past 19 months.

Where are the jobs Obama said he would create? Come on Lancey boy, where are these jobs?

Obviously, the jobs promised by Obama did not materialize since the unemployment rate has been persistiently high under Obama.

What was the deficit for the last 6 months of Bush's term in office? Do you remember watching the deficit numbers keep creeping up from 400 billion to 600 billion to 800 billion to a trillion? It took bush 7 years to destroy the greatest economy in the world. I expect it is going to take at least that long to build it back up. The good news is that maybe things have gotten bad enough that we can face the fundamental problems (defense, medicare spending and the fact that SS will no longer be propping up the rest of the budget) and implement fixes. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Failed businesses bring in an emergency CEO to cleanup and rescue ruined companies. Obama has done a good job so far, rescuing the US from the George Wimp Bush Regime. The job isn't done yet. The free fall has been arrested but unemployment is terrible. Let's all hope Obama can fix unemployment for our country.

Obama had to start his term with the remnants of the ruined economy the Wimp Bush Regime left him. So you can't judge Obama by what Clinton left Wimp Bush. According to the US Govt leaks, Iraq and Afghanistan was lost during the Wimp Bush Regime. More than before Wimp Bush invaded Iraq and Afghanistan in 2002, the Iraq Warlords, Taliban, and Al Quaeda are sending billions of dollars to Hamas and Fatah and are funding Freedom Fighters in Yemen, Somalia, Europe, and across the globe. Islam is growing stronger and stronger each day thanks to the failure of the Wimp Bush regime.

What was Bush's rate in 2008? Oh about a trillion dollars. And that was with 2 good quarters. Get rid of q1+2008 and replace it with q1 of 2009 and bushes rate is higher than obamas.

If anyone needs things "simplified", it is you. Why don't YOU read this information, and maybe for once in your life, turn off your fox news hypnotized brain and open your mind, and look at some of the FACTS objectively. Then come back and tell is what you think. This article was written EXPRESSLY for people like you. I will quote from it and then link to it.

1) the economic crash that happened on Bush's watch (and festered during years and years of Republicans control of all branches of gov't) ??

2) The Iraq and Afghanistan wars (especially Iraq, since that is what bled us of the most funds by FAR) ... ??

3) The Bush tax cuts ???

If you have an ounce of objectivity or integrity, you know you can't blame Obama for those things, and those are the policies driving our deficit!! For God's sake man, open you eyes.

(and as the article points out, these #'s don't even count the Bush Medicare Part D program, which was a hand out to pharmaceutical companies. This policy also is certainly adding to our deficit, but the CBO can not confidently predict to what extent at this time, so it was left out )

Be honest for once in your life. The deficit we are facing is NOT due to recent democrat of Obama policies. Period.

Where are the Republican/conservatives and why aren't they jumping up and down on Warren Buffett for saying the wealthy have never had it so good, and that American's should have finally gotten the message that there is not trickle down, and that the wealthy should pay more? He's one of the richest guys in the world, a capitalist icon, and as pro-business as anyone can be, and he's committing right-wing heresy yet, not a peep? How come?
