If you pay close attention, he's still sad at the end of the book going to find the 'old gnarled tree' to sooth his wounds. I learned that running will never be more important than the finding happiness with another human being. Basically he should have never left Andrea.

I found myself skeptical when someone told me to read it. But I soon found it was a great book. Pretty remarkable what he has accomplished.
