I'm actually pretty sure no one in the MIAC has run 153 indoor in the last 7 years (other than sames), and maybe not for a while before that. So, I doubt you OR your mom did it.
Has Erichsen ran anything yet? I'm just curious how he will do. I saw Sigl ran around 8:19 in the 3K last weekend. Think Erichsen has a shot at him in the 5K come Nationals? Thoughts?

2005:
Bryce Beckman Sr St. Thomas 1:53.72
2001:
Mark Bresnan Sr St. Olaf 1:52.87
By years I meant seasons, not really a big deal though. Bryce did do it (although not as fast as sames), so there was ONE other guy in the past 7 seasons (or 6 years). The guy I responded to is smoking some good shit if he thinks anyone can run 153 indoor. If so I expect him, and his olympic gold medalist mom, to be topping the honor roll next week.
if you want to get technical, sames' 1:53.26 will be adjusted +0.9 seconds to 1:54.16 on the national honor roll since isu has an oversized track.
this adjusted time was also bested by corey fusco (1:54.06) in 2005 and by mike marschel (1:54.04) in 2004.
sames himself ran faster than this at mankato last year (1:53.91) to qualify for nationals, whereas his time this year would not have made it. nor will it likely qualify him for this year's national meet. i guess it's still kind of fast though.
Looking ahead to this fall the conference cross country meet looks like it will be up for grabs between Hamline, Bethel, and maybe St Olaf.
Hamline - Gleason, Bauer, Murphy, Campbell, Groh
This looks like the early favorite with four from their top 6 in 2007 back, plus adding Gleason who should contend for the win.
Bethel - Strong front 3 with Greeno, Gladitsch and Hinrichs then a bunch of younger guys. If their back end can improve and Greeno and Gladitsch both go top 3 they could win.
St Olaf - Another strong front 3 with O'Neill, Lambert and Green. If Ruon runs cross next fall that would probably give them the best top 4 of anyone, but they would still need to find a fifth somewhere.
1. This thread is for 2008 MIAC TRACK. For 2008 MIAC CROSS COUNTRY, start a new thread.
2. The Oles missing #5 will almost certainly be Marotz, who ran 26:52 for 30th at Como Park this past fall as a sophomore, actually finishing ahead of David Green. So I don't think they will be missing a 5th.
Some solid race this weekend. St. Thomas guys, DeLaub, and Swanson perhaps take the cake.
Solid DMR out of Olaf too.

I heard GLEASON is not running the Iowa State 5K due to a death in the family, can anyone verify???
Greeno and Gladistch ran 8:39 and 8:43 today. They both looked pretty good and relaxed.
seriously, does it matter? its a race. if you heard it, who did you hear it from? a hamline guy probably. so you dont need to go on a message board about some pointless race and talk about a personal matter, which may or may not be true. i have no idea if he is racing/did race the 5k. and it wont affect my life either.
The 3K is very, very stacked this year. When was the last time so many guys went under 8:40 this early in the year?

3 guys under 840 does not mean it is stacked. alot of good times, but its not unusual at all.
ya the wiac has 10 guys who have ran 8:40 or under
