Mcconnell of Elmhurst may not win this year, but he will be up there contending for sure in the indoor mile and outdoor 1500. I think he was an All American in both last year as a Soph.
That kid has had sick finishes in all his races.
BUMP BUMP
He should place well, but I think it may be very tough to beat Butzler in the indoor mile or the outdoor 1500.
you guys check out the trackshark D3 blog? some pretty interesting insight to how some of the top runners felt about their races.
any idea how many guys they'll take this year in all the distance events?
I've seen several picks at 800m other than Jimmy O'Brien. That's just crazy talk. The kid won indoors and outdoors last year, improved liked mad in XC (21st in his region in 06 to 34 at nats in 07), and is racing on his home track at indoor nationals.
He'll bring the noise.
Just to back myself up, The reason why i had such a shitty outdoor season my senior year was the fact i had a severe bone bruise in my heal and wasn't able to run for 3 weeks, and then my first week back, the week before nationals, i raced the 10k friday night, and steeple,5k saturday which doubled my milage for the week and honestly it kicked my but, but to me tripling and helping the team at conference was more important than nationals.
Opinions on running a indoor meet in Dec? If your in shape to get a NCAA time, do it. it takes a lot of pressure off you for the season, and you don't spend all your time chasing times. You can just run and enjoy beating up on people. What a lot of people don't know, is i actually raced the 5k 3 weeks before indoor nats that year at a very small 3 team meet and ran just .03 seconds slower than my time from Dec so it wasn't updated and no one found out.

cool...
Last indoor Joslyn ran a 5k at the same meet Kosgei just did. Joslyn ran just fine at NCAA's too.
Sigl ran a 1:55 800 last weekend. Don't know why he wasted his time with that rather than getting a mile or 5k qualifier out of the way, but then again I'm not his coach.

That was just stupid. Your coach must be an idiot for making you do that. Why wouldn't you save a little bit for nationals, especially coming off an injury? How did you even do in those races?

given that he quoted the section about running a 5K three weeks before indoor nationals, I think he meant results for that...the OAC thing would obviously be more common knowledge (not that I don't believe his claim about the 5K at the small meet; not sure why he'd make that up...)

1. Your a dick
2. The results have been posted
3. It wasn't my coach who made me do that. He actually told me to just run the 5k because i have never won a outdoor conference 5k. I talked him into letting me do it. To some people conference is very important to them. i understand this is a hard concept for someone who doesn't have a conference meet to understand.
What do people think of the sprints for 2008? With Lincoln moving on to D2, will there be any team stepping up to take their place?
let's bump it!
Mike Sawicki...
"You're".
Come on. Honestly.
