Kyle Basista of Mount. He is eligible now so he must be smarter as well.

mount, however, never performs well at nationals. but i think he will have a very high placing in the region
What has Basista done in Cross or on the track that warrants possible National Champ? I am not taking a shot at him. I am just too lazy to do some research. Id appreciate someone filling me
i think the fact that the majority of people have missed Ryan Place is pretty juvenile. While he has been very talented these past years people dont realize that he has now gained a tremendous base and actually has been having people to run with during workouts. He has, normally, been training by himself due to the people to train with that are at his caliber at Allegheny. Watch out for him at Nationals. He'll be fit and faster than ever

Haha why is that juvenile that noone knows about someone has put alot of miles in this summer?? How would anyone know that??
what has basista done? he ran a few seconds over 15 for 5k. in short, he has done nothing. he will be lucky to win conference.
i think whoever posted his name was not being serious
I reread your posts, they're convoluted, at best. But I agree with you in principle, per your last post directed at me.
the top few will be a battle...and be sure that place will be in the thick of it...and he has my vote too
How about NYU this weekend...who is going?
Not much talk of Shamus Nally on here but lots of talk about Kosgei. Nally beat Kosgei by 34 seconds at the Boilermaker this summer. He also is he 3rd fastest returning 10k guy in the country. In front of many of the people already mentioned prevously might I add.

Since NYU is going to win the whole thing, you've got to consider their top runner right now, Calvin Lee.
Oh Calwin Ree.
Wow those temperatures look mild and balmy compared to rural upstate NY. JK But seriously I dont think you realize how cold it gets up there some of those temperatures are a bit warmer and yes a bit colder depending on where you are in NY. I know between Saranac Lake and Potsdam there are some pretty cold places north of the Adirondak park. That would impress even the most grizzled Minnesotian.
Looks like the average of Potsdam, NY, is 26 and 4 in January. As a grizzled Minnesotan, I am impressed I must say. That's pretty damn cold. Saranac Lake, NY, is 25 and 3. It's 17 and -1 where I'm from in January.
Are we gonna talk about national contenders or complain about how awfully chilly it is in Minnesota?
Well go ahead and jump in with contenders then instead of complaining. Someone asked before about the weather in Minnesota.
It seems to me that you can pretty much break the list of contenders down into two camps. There are those who are considered largely on their individual performances at cross nationals last year: Boggs, Christiansen, Place, Nally, etc. There are also those who are being considered more for their performances in track last outdoor season: Kosgei, Sigl, Phillips, Erichsen, Abdullah, etc. I think both criteria are important, though it can be hard in some cases to reconcile the two and come up with a single favorite. To me the strongest candidate appears to be Sigl. His win in the 10k last outdoor season was truly a competitive breakthrough. He kind of bombed last year at nationals, but go back to his sophomore performance and you'll see that he did really well (5th, I think?)while going for the win. I believe that the other major contenders (in descending order) are Kosgei, Boggs, Place, Phillips, Christiansen and Nally. And there are probably others. That's the beautiful thing about D3 cross; it's so much less predictable (and thus more exciting) than D1.
Kosgei has a legitimate shot simply because hes in his 2nd year of running. Look at his improvement from cross country to outdoor last year. Its unbelievable. Hes no where near his potential. He has great talent and D3 will hear alot of his name for the next three years. He places top 10and contends for the title beacuse of his great range - he ran a 1:52 in his second ever attempt at 800 meters and ran 48 something for the boilermaker this summer - look for his fitness to just keep improving and like during nationals in the steeple (8:55), he'll blow the doors off the field in impressive fashion.
Butzler will dominate. End of thread.
butzler sucks....big time....really bad...hes not a cross country runner and has nothing nothing in cross country
Nope. You are wrong. Just cuz you couldn't carry his spikes for him you little bitch. What is your name becuase I am sure he would love to know it when he races you next you little shit. Go listen to your Spice Girl cd and quit talking big.
