NYU is not listed on the teams entered for Paul Short. And they are not getting in if they try now! Check out the list at

i am sure you can check nyu website for their schedule.
Any schools getting big name recruits that could skew the ratings at all?
bump
Has abdallah stayed healthy this summer?
anyone know when the preseason rankings and all that stuff usually come out? Regional or National rankings
cortland in 4th? very interesting.
Thats a heck of a list... St. Lawrence and Cortland are too low (especially Cortland).
What this guy was trying to convey with this list is:
1-4 in any order will be: NYU, TCNJ, Cortland, Geneseo
5-rest: who the hell knows
Actually, that list is not complete/accurate/factual/or anything else. It's basically the same order they were ranked last year for the preseason, which will not be the same this year.
Thanks for making me look bad John :) The 2007 preview should be out by the end of next week, after the majority of the teams have had a couple days to see who they really have.
Preseason national rankings come out on Sept. 4th with the 2nd "real" poll coming out Sept. 25th.

HaHa Mark, I did not mean to make you look bad! :) I'm just getting the info out there to everyone...sorry to everyone for releasing false info! I jumped the gun I guess, I'm just anxious for the season to start! Good luck to everyone this fall.
gotta love that upstate NY bias from last season, nyu and tcnj got no respect.

Since noone is every satisfied with the weekly rankings, here is an idea...let's not do rankings. Or better yet, we'll do them twice. One at preseason and the second one, I'll do myself. I'll wait until Sunday after regionals, then I'll post the rankings. How does that sound? At least then we'll know they are accurate. But I'm sure someone will still complain that so and so's team could have finished better if Johnny Leftnut didn't lose his spike and Frank Shorterthanyou didn't have a stick poke him in his um, eye.
Truth is, if there weren't weekly rankings, then most of bickering (and some productive debates) on this thread (and last years) wouldn't be able to happen.
In the end, the weekly rankings don't mean anything. All that matters is how you run on November 10th and November 17th. Good luck to all.
woah there buddy calm, down didnt know you had a soft spot for rankings. i think we are all a bit antsy to see what everyone else really has. the hear-say has died down considerably so it'd be nice to see some cold hard facts for a change.
Well, cold hard facts certainly aren't going to show in polls either. Have to wait a few more weeks before we can have anything concrete.
when does the regional preview come out on the region site?
Preview is up. Flame away.
Mark, thanks for the preview. Your rankings *are* appreciated, even though you'll always get more grief than gratitude! From the little that I know about the region, those seem like reasonable guesses (and what else can preseason rankings be?).
Speaking of "grief"--as in "good grief"--it's sad to contemplate the distance between the NYU men's (first in the regional preseason rankings) and women's (not even mentioned) teams. I know Coach Smith uses cross mostly to condition for track, but his team didn't do anything in track, either!
I know Smith has successfully coached distance runners in the past--I'd have to think that a couple of good recruits could move the Violet women at least into "honorable mention" range--but right now that program is just sad.
NYU women dont have a distance program.
nice job with the preview, can you add any more names to some of these teams and who they got? NYU, Geneseo got some good frosh, who are they?
I think Vassar will be top ten for sure with the return of Sanders. I heard he was on a mormon mission during track season, can anyone confirm his fitness.
