If you're such at hot shot, are you going to be on the field on NCAAs as well? I doubt it.

because no one has ever been injured in college before! what is wrong with all you people - athletes get hurt! it is part of training and competing - they will survive and end up running fast at UCLA if they just are patient! Everyone needs time to adjust to a new program

Not too sure about Tony, but Ed might be the best of the core group of assistants. Don't know much about the third assistant to judge.

I'm sorry, but there is no way that either Ed or Tony should be considered (and I don't think either want the job). Both are good at coaching specific events (middle distances for Tony, HJ and some Multi events with a few athletes for Ed), but they are both pretty lazy and unorganized. I don't mean that as a slight on their coaching abilities, but to manage a team of 100 athletes is outside of their talents. Cal needs to go outside for this one. They should be able to attract some very good candidates.

Agree 100%. They have coached (at times) some very fine athletes, but let's remember that both of these guys are EXTREMELY lazy. I've heard at team meetings they mumble/babble and add nothing to the discussion. They spend their time sleeping or making Starbucks runs. These program needs some fresh blood. Not these apathetic dull boys. Either one is probably more concerned about the nice retirement packages soon to be coming to them from the state of CA.

Plus, let's remember, while Sandoval has had some success this year, it's about time. Last place at Pac-10s every year in XC (where Sandoval IS the head coach) with the talent that comes into that school is inexcusable.

Say what you want about them but Tony Sandoval and Ed Miller are NOT lazy. That's bullshit. They were always cleaning up after meets and available at any time.

This thread has run its course. It's deteriorated into personal attacks on posters and other Cal coaches. Don't bump it, or better yet, wejo, just please delete it.

Huffins will move on, and a new coach will be hired. Not much more can be said than that.

I think it is time to focus on the NCAA meet coming up this week, where many Cal Bears are going to compete.

Wouldnt it be nice if things worked like that, throw a bit of reason out and people actually listen. I am sure the athletes will do just fine and if a thread on "Lets run" is what ruins their performance @ NCAAs , that is a sad excuse.

In 2005, CAL's Cross Country team came in 3rd at Pac-10's.

Last year, the team fell badly at the conference meet due to Ghebray coming down with exercise induced asthma at the 4 mile mark and had to drop out. His asthma was previously undiagnosed and came out of the blue.

Some of you people need to get a real life instead of your continued bashing of the CAL program. Cal is sending 16 athletes to NCAA's this week, Stanford 20.

One would think that people would be talking about the NCAA's coming up this week, but instead we have some very pathetic people making personal attacks, anonymously on the Internet. Takes a whole lot of balls to do that, eh?

And people wonder what's wrong with our Sport.
